Black feathers beating in the night,
Leaving me to toss and turn.
Heart cold as icy mist.
Sending shivers down my spine,
Claws, sharp as daggers.
I flinch as it rakes my body.

I toss,I shiver and I flinch.
It's just a nightmare,
But I can't move,
Can't pinch myself.

My eyes open to see it,
It's pale skin and dark eyes.
The velvet feeling of the wings,

Shadows are his alliance,
Within the darks of my brain.
He raises a hand for the death blow,
And I awake.

A black feather falls slowly my bedroom floor.
Just a nightmare I tell myself.
