Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Disclaimer: I don't own Crescent Moon.
Summary: Christmas time at the Moonshine bar means lots of business, snowmen, and decorations involving plants.
A/N: Fluffy and short one-shot here. It's a Mitsuru/Mahiru by the way.
"Oh the weather outside is frightful. But the fire is so delightful. And since we've no place to go. Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!"
The carol continued its cheerful lyrics over the loud speaker as costumers spilled into the Moonshine bar.
As much as people loved Christmas carols, they didn't like the last part of the song. It resembled a blizzard outside and it seemed as if everyone was taking shelter in the Moonshine.
It was good for business, but not for the workers.
Especially Mitsuru.
He hated Christmas.
Hated it so much that both Akira and Nozomu had taken to calling him "Grinch". He didn't care of course. Just as long as they let him be.
Mitsuru never had any pleasant memories of Christmas. All he ever experienced during this time of year was trying to survive the cold winter nights.
Apparently Mahiru had thought of that as such a tragedy that she had taken it upon herself to give Mitsuru the best Christmas ever.
Bad idea.
She had taken him out Christmas shopping and ended up being stranded in a crowded mall yelling out for him when he had ditched her an hour earlier.
Then she tried to have an old-fashioned snowball fight with him. He'd actually liked that idea and had pelted snowball after snowball at her until she was so buried that Akira had to dig her out.
Next was making a snowman. Mitsuru ended up making a snow version of his demon form which scared away children.
Mahiru was on the verge of giving up when a hanging decoration caught her eye. She smiled mischievously as she eyed Mitsuru who was mopping the floors of slush for the Christmas party they were having later.
She stood and made her way to stand in the doorway and called, "Mitsuru! Could you come here for a second?"
Mitsuru gave her a questionable look but complied by leaning the mop against the counter. "What is it woman?" he asked as he made his way towards her.
"I wanted to give you something."
"What?"
"A Christmas present!"
He scowled as he stopped in front of her. "How many times have I told you, I don't like Christmas!"
"Just look up," she ordered.
He did and saw a green plant dangling from a red ribbon. "So? What is it?"
She smiled and answered, "Mistletoe of course!"
"And what's it for?"
Her smile widened. "This!"
She stood on her tiptoes and quickly kissed him on the lips. Mitsuru's brain barely registered the contact since he was too busy thinking about what the heck was going on.
"Merry Christmas Mitsuru!" was the last thing Mahiru said before going upstairs.
Mitsuru's cheeks turned a light shade of pink. A small smiled graced his face before whispering, "Merry Christmas Mahiru."
Maybe he didn't hate Christmas after all.
A/N: Short but sweet. Please review! Happy Holidays everyone!
"If only Christmas was everyday. Then everyone would be nice to each other and we'd get presents everyday!"
