Hello everybody. I've been fairly quiet for a long time and I just finished watching the Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings (I had a marathon) and wanted to write something for Thranduil and Legolas's relationship as father and son. Please review and enjoy!
Thranduil To Legolas
I watch as he makes his own path
Away from me and all this kingdom hath
A silence now surrounds my forest green
So my face becomes blank as a white sheen
I would protect him till the end of my life
To lock him away from this world's dark strife
Alas, he's left, my dear leaf
So my wood and I sank down to grief
He's seen much more of this world than I
He's even watched his friends die
In that way we are similar, the same
Yet life seems to make it such a bitter-sweet game
For our thoughts and feelings it begins to churn
Before he understands my past, my burn
He is my son, therefore his pain is mine
Yet he does not understand much of my storyline
So he leaves me and this world on a ship to the Haven
And I stay in Middle Earth with the Woodland elven
To fade away into the land of men
To never see him in the sacred garden
I can only continue to pray
That he feels my love for him everyday
For I love him, and he loves me
Father and son we will always be.
