"Korra! Asami! Your back! Do the others know?" opal said as she saw them waiting on bar stools in the kitchen of her mother's house. They had just gotten back from their trip to the spirit world.
"yes, we surprised everyone else just like you." Opal hugged them and started tearing up.
"What's up?" korra asked opal, noticing the tears in her eyes.
"I'm just so happy to see you!" she said hugging the couple tighter. Korra knew that something was up, but she let it go since su and lin walked in, surprised to see them.
(Ok only su actually cared)
"wow so nice of you to show your faces." Lin said sarcastically. The sisters exchanged welcome backs with korra and Asami while opal went to go get Bolin. Opal walked down the halls of her childhood home, searching for her boyfriend. After their fight about kuvira, their relationship was kind of rocky, but they got over it quickly.
Opal turned a corner calling Bolin's name repeatedly and then her eyes were covered by hands. Opal panicked and uses airbending to push back the person in back of her at full force. She heard the person slam into the wall, and spun around to see Bolin lying on the floor. Opal ran toward him (who was kind of far away) and knelt by Bolin.
"O MY GOSH ARE YOU OK I DIDN'T MEAN IT I THOUGHT YOU WERE AN INTRUDER OR SOM…" opal's ramble was interrupted by Bolin's kiss. When they parted Bolin winced.
"Damn." Bolin swore (which he rarely does), clutching his right shoulder. "you really know how to defend yourself." Bolin said with his quirky smile. Opal giggled, Helped him up, and walked with him to the kitchen.
"BOLIN! what happened to you?" Asami asked in a caring tone. Seeing him wince at opal's slightest touch, trying to examine his injury
"I snuck up on opal. Piece of advice; make sure she knows it's you!" he said whispering. They all laughed. "Wait? Since when did you guys get back?" he asked realizing they were there.
Later
Bolin knocked on the door connecting his and opal's rooms. He heard opals muffled voice from the other side welcome him in. he walked over and hopped on the bed with opal. He sat legs crossed in his tank top and shorts.
"So tomorrow I was thinking we could go out somewhere, like maybe republic city or something." Bolin asked kind of nervous; like always.
"i would love to, but going that far is something we need to plan ahead. And besides you need to rest, knowing you you're going to hurt your shoulder even more." Opal said even though she wanted to go.
"but we only have this weekend till we both go back to busy work. and besides it'll be fun." bolin said trying to convince his girlfriend.
"ok, fine but only the weekend, we both have work."opal said excited for their trip. "if we are leaving tomorrow then i need to pack!" opal said jumping off the bed, and running toward her dresser. bolin walked back into his room to pack as well.
he went over everything in his head " pajamas, toothbrush, two shirts, two shorts, and…" bolin paused and thought, looking at the small box hidden in his dresser.
