To my beloved Rose,

I have missed you a great deal since my exile. My dreams are filled with your smile and curled blond locks that rest so perfectly just below you're ears. They seem to haunt me; the thought of what we had still pledges my mind and heart. But alas the people have spoken, though their minds are not able to conceive my fillings for you. I have sent my eldest brother to deliver my letter to you, and your response if you are to make one.

Not even my own father had enough of a mind to speak out against them. I have seen the first few flakes that the sky has given. Have you seen them too? I know how much you love the snow, it reminds you of home. I think that it falls for you, such as I have. Your beauty brings the sky to its knees and in the cold of winter it cries frozen tears for us.

Do you blame the wolf for killing a deer to eat? Why do they blame me for knowing what they don't? To tear us apart as they have, I find it inconceivable. To persecute me as a witch for healing the sick is ludicrous.

Please do not blame me for my leaving. It wasn't by choice, and if they were to catch wind of our quiet nights together I know that you too would be punished. So my love, please wait for me. But if I never come, move on, find someone to hold you and keep you safe. Just keep smiling until I may be able to see you once more, and hold your soft hand in mine. Our fingers will intertwine and no one will ever be able to pull us apart.

Love, yours forever on, Kanya
