(gasp) 91! I'm on a roll, peeps! Let's go!
Disclaimer: They ain't mine. Lord knows what'd happen if they were...
This little drabble is for onetreefan, for all her shoutouts and hugs. Thanks, Rach!
Olivia watched with almost predatory eyes as the paramedics carefully lifted Elliot onto the stretcher, zipping the bag up to his neck. "I'm riding with him," she told Cragen firmly, subtly gripping the side of the stretcher with her trembling hand. He nodded understandingly, and she walked alongside Elliot's stretcher as it was carefully guided out of the building.
Once they loaded him into the back of the ambulance, she climbed in and quickly sat down near his head. "You know, this just hasn't been a good year for you, El," Olivia stated with a half smile.
"Really? I hadn't noticed," he retorted dryly, looking up at her with clouded eyes. She just smiled at him, her gentle hand unconsciously moving to stroke his forehead. He closed his eyes and relaxed under her touch, and she didn't stop until they reached the hospital.
EOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOEO
She let out a gasp as her eyes flew open, and it took several seconds for her to realize where she was. She was still in the hospital, and she was safe. Safe. She kept repeating the word over and over as she closed and turned over onto her side, tucking her hands under her cheek.
"Bad dream?"
The voice was soft, but it still made Olivia gasp and jump to face the owner of the voice. Elliot was sitting in the chair beside her bed, a concerned smile on his face as he watched his partner.
"What are you doing here, El?" she asked, but her voice came out as little more than a whisper.
"Heard you were here, and I figured I'd come up and check on you," he answered honestly, and she favored him with a tired smile.
"I'm fine, El. They said I can go home tomorrow," she stated, her eyes sliding shut. He chuckled warmly, and the last thing she remembered was the sensation of his unshaven cheek against hers. Then she sank back into oblivion.
The End...
A/N: See, didn't that make sooo much more sense? Review please, bunnies!
