Prologue

He was worried about her. She had been gone for several days. No phone call. No email. No text message. Nothing. It wasn't like her to be gone for so long without keeping in touch. Especially since she was picking up the boys and had just disappeared. He tried calling her. No answer. It got to the point where he was going to fill out a missing person's report. But no, he couldn't do that. The risk was all too high. He couldn't put his family in danger. But he needed to do something. He missed her. The boys missed her. They needed their mom at home with them. Hell he needed her at home. He was trying to do his best to be the dad that the boys needed him to be. It was hard though with all the cooking, cleaning, keeping up with laundry, doing homework, getting them to and from school. He needs her now more than ever before. He tried sleeping at night but he had nightmares about her and screamed, "Tara, Tara! Where are you? Come home! We need you!"

Lying awake in what looked like a small, country store, Tara Winston feared for her life. Six days ago she had been abducted from her car. She was picking the boys up from school when the man had taken her. She had done everything possible for him to let her go. Nothing worked. The biting, scratching, kicking, screaming, it was like he craved it. That sounds crazy, but the harder she fought, the more excited he got. She'd bite him and he would squeal out of joy. She'd kick him and he'd say harder. It made her fear that he would try having sex with her. There was no way she would ever comply with that. She needed to get home. Needed to get back to her life. And some prick wasn't going to get in her way. She'd kill him if she had too. The door opened and when she saw him, she could've died from a heart attack right there. He found her and now he'd taken her away from her new life.

Tara missed her boys. AJ and Luke must've been scared out of their minds when they were left at school all alone. And Opie. Her beloved Opie. God how she missed him. He had to be searching for her. He had to be, right? She couldn't wait to get home and be with her boys again. How she would rather be at the PTA meeting with those fake, plastic wenches. She could be lying in bed with Opie right now watching crap TV and laughing at the terrible acting. Those were the moments she cherished most, laughing and feeling happy with Opie. He had saved her. Saved her from her past life with Him.

Tara should've known this was coming. It had been years since she'd seen him. Hell she hadn't seen him since the day she left McKinney and moved to Charming to leave her past behind. But more importantly she thought that she had left Him behind. Obviously she had been wrong. She didn't want anything to do with that life, not then and certainly not now. She had moved on from that life. She moved to Charming to live with her aunt and uncle. She met Opie, fell in love, got married, and had the boys. She finally got the fairytale ending she always wanted, or had she? It wasn't often she had thought about that life, but now she wished that it had never existed. She wanted to get the hell out of there, and she would do whatever it'd take.
