The Wanderers

"The course of true love never did run smooth."
William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream

1. Prelude

One will wind and work through devil's toil
seeking to redeem, ever reaching out for hope
in love and lovers' dreams.

Blind in sight and heart to unexpected eyes,
the man maneuvers agilely through webs of lost time.
And she, whose moon bright affections never wane on tidal waves,
slips past his notice, claiming none of his space.

Are there moments, true and sweet, that spill
possibilities into waiting hands? Perhaps those two
will wander through, meeting in the end, their fates
linked in knots, their hearts as one true beat.

T'is unexpected love right before one's eyes.
Remember, believe.
