If I owned Marvel, X-Men: Evolution would've had a fifth season. Instead, I can have this. :-P
P.S. If Pietro seem a bit out of character, its because, presumably, he's been changed by the Apocalypse Fiasco and his father's "resurrection".
What are Families For
It was nearly two weeks after the Battle of Apocalypse. The Brotherhood had agreed to stay at the X-Mansion for varying reasons. Lance, of course, was here because a certain brunette had made her home here. Freddy was here because of the bigger food supply. Todd was here because Wanda wasn't willing to lose touch with her twin brother. And Pietro came because of his father. Magneto had stayed at the mansion only long enough to see the new school year begin. Afterwards, he had left for parts unknown, presumably to pursue yet another plan for mutant supremacy. When Quicksilver had woken up one morning to find his father gone he had walked around in a daze, rarely acknowledging his friends and peers. Wanda had tried her best to get him to revert to his old, confident self, but any attempts were thwarted by Pietro's apparent indifference. She had tried everything from gentle coxing to threatening to hex him to Mongolia. Still, the former speedster failed to recover.
"Mind if I join you?" Kurt Wagner, AKA the Incredible Nightcrawler turned from his perch on one of the mansion's many balconies to see Pietro himself staring vacantly at him.
"Um, sure." Kurt scooted over to make room for his new classmate. Pietro leaned up against the railing. They sat/stood in silence for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, the white-haired boy spoke.
"Is it true? That Mystique's your...?"
"My mother? Ja."
"Oh. I'm... sorry." Nightcrawler turned slightly and raised his eyebrow. This was not like the infamous Pietro "Quicksilver" Maximoff at all! The teenager in question stared out at the horizon, his blue eyes brimmed with sadness. "At least you weren't raised by her. I... heard from Rogue what happened." Does every one know who my mother is? Kurt wondered as turned his companion.
"Vhen did she tell you zhat?" he asked.
"Yesterday. But I'd rather have a family like yours then..." he trailed off.
"You'd rather have Mystique then Magneto?"
"No! I... I mean your family in Germany! The Wagners!"
"Did Rogue tell you zhat also?!?" Pietro nodded. Kurt groaned. "Man, I am going to kill her when I see her next!" The white-haired mutant chuckled.
"That's what... family's for, I guess. I wouldn't really know, what with Dad and Wanda..." Pietro sighed. "It's kind of a long story."
"Ditto." agreed Kurt. The sun was setting. Pietro straightened up and stretched.
"I'll... see you at dinner, I guess"
"See ya." The white-haired boy jogged down the hall towards the rec room. Nightcrawler turned back to the setting sun. he decided that he wasn't really mad at Rogue for telling Pietro about him and Mystique. After all, isn't that what families are for?
