"Zoey, I won't let him hurt you. Ever." Stark looked her in the eyes.
She sighed, "Stark, you can't promise that. I was A-ya in a past life. I still want him." Her eyes filled with tears.
"Don't cry Zoey. Please don't cry." He whispered and then he kissed her lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck. "I will do everything in my power to keep you away from Kalona."
A sob escaped from her lips. "I'm afraid that I'll give into him." She said, her voice cracking.
"It's our choices that make us who we are, Zoey. Not who we were in a past life, or some marks on our skin. And not even an ability to control all five elements. It's how we use our abilities. For good or for evil."
She kissed his lips. "I think I'm in love with you Stark."
"I love you Zoey. And not just because I'm your warrior."
She was so drained. The past week had not been good for her. Aphrodite had been killed by one of the rogue red fledglings, being that she was human and they were hungry. She was resting in Heath's arms, when he insisted on her drinking from him. So she did. As always, the act triggered a sexual attraction. She made herself stop before either of them did anything too serious.
After she'd stopped drinking from him, she made out with him.
Erik had seen Zoey kissing Heath and Stark. He wanted to be with her too.
"What's on your mind, sunshine?" He heard Stevie Rae drawl in her Okie accent.
"Just thinking about Zoey."
She walked over and kissed his lips. "You never need to think about Zoey again." She said seductively.
