Prologue
The night air was icy cold and cut through the trees like a sharp knife. The braches bent under the force of the wind and the streets of Godricks Hollow seemed eerie. The shadows looked as if they were moving and whispering among themselves plotting the downfall of others. The loose floorboards on the porches of the old dilapidated houses that lined the streets creaked and moaned.
These things would have frightened an ordinary person away but the girl walking on the cobblestone sidewalk didn't seem disturbed at all. As a matter of fact she looked as of the sounds soothed her and made her feel as if she belonged. Now as was previously said an ordinary person would be frightened, so that could only mean the girl was unordinary and she looked the part too. She wore a hooded cloak that barely concealed her mass of wavy blonde hair. Her piecing gray eyes matched the gray knee-high leather boots she wore over faded black jeans. In her hand she griped a wand though to muggles it looked like a thin nicely shaped strip of wood. Even though it was cold the tight gray shirt she wore didn't even cover her midriff.
The cold didn't seem to bother her at all. She walked through the icy wisps slowly as if she didn't feel a thing. A determined look was etched across her face as she walked. She needed to get to the destroyed house a few blocks from where she was now a.s.a.p. There her brother was waiting for her and there they would discuss their plan. She was so wrapped up in her determination that she didn't seem notice hat 3 people had been following her ever since she had first appariated in the village.
Since they hadn't seen anybody since they had got to the village the sudden arrival of the mysterious girl sparked the interest of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley. They had wordlessly agreed that they should follow her. They were careful to walk quietly and watched for any sudden movements. So far she hadn't said anything or given any inclination that she knew they were even there. She was hard to follow because she made sudden turns and sometimes picked up her pace.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were curious about who the girl was because they hadn't got a good look at her face. They wanted to question her but didn't dare because they could see the wand in her hand, and they didn't know if she sided with the Dark of the Light. Following her seemed to be a better choice then bombarding her with questions.
As much as they wanted to the trio didn't even dare speak to one another for they feared she would here them. However they couldn't suppress a gasp as they saw where she had led them. They were standing near the wreckage of Harry's parent's house, the place where Voldemort had killed them and Harry had got his scar. This may have shocked them but it was nothing compared to the surprise they got when they saw who was hidden among the debris.
