It was a beautiful afternoon... The sun was shining, birds were singing, and no alien life forms or villains were trying to rule/destroy the world... Or rather New York. Yet.
Taking advantage of the unusual lack of a shitstorm in which they need to save the world from, the Avengers were sprawled out on Tony's behemoth of a couch either watching television, drawing, and/or reading with the exception of the couches owner (Downstairs fiddling with the suit) and Thor (Asgard). They should have know something was going to happen to shatter the peace into a million techni-coloured pieces sooner or later.
. Steve looked up from his sketchbook. THUMP. THUMP. THUD. Okay, now it was obvious someone was running up the stairs, which was odd in itself. CRASH. . Finally with a crash worthy of a old cartoon, Tony slammed open the door to be greeted with three long suffering stares (Clint was trying not to laugh himself unconscious and falling, mind you).
"Capsicle! Turn it to CNN!" Steve just stared. "CAAAAAAAP." Tony whined. Sighing, he complied with the demand.
CNN was its normal self, annoying news loops, anchormen and women that you could swear on your mother's grave came came out of an Barbie factory, corospondents bickering over each other like teenage girls... The works. The only thing that was different was that they weren't talking about the latest scandal or Yesterday (Corrosive meat slugs from outer space... You really don't want to know) they where talking about the new superheroes on the block : The Clockwork Three.
The new group consisted of three individuals dressed in Edwardian suits with bowler hats and odd featurless mirrored masks. But Steve already knew this. He was after all very farmilliar with them.
Having seen his reaction of familiarity, Natasha's curiousity piqued. "Steve⦠Do you recognize these three?" Four curious eyes stared at him,and he sighed.
"Yes, The Clockwork Three was a group of vigilantes that terrorised the Axis forces in the trenches and the battlefield. Often the soldiers would wake up to find that all of their wepons were either gone or completely unusable, and many a suprise attack thwarted by them."
After the suprise background story silence encompassed the room.
"So this is the same group from World War Two?" Bruce questioned.
"That's not possible!" Tony yelled, "It's impossible that they could have survived and still be young enough to do this!" Steve stared at him again. "Well you're special Capsicle."
