Hey guys :) This is a short head canon I wrote aaaages ago for a Facebook page and I decided to share it here. It is Harry/Hermione but only very mild, hence the rating. Anyway, let me know what you think in a review! :D Thanks guys!
When Hermione was petrified, it had a huge impact on both Harry and Ron. They visited her as often as they could.
Harry, however, was having a particularly tough time juggling schoolwork, trying to understand the voices he was hearing and his visits with Ron to the hospital wing with his own, secret nightly visits under the invisibility cloak to Hermione.
You see, in first year, Harry had developed something of a crush on Hermione. Harry wanted to feel needed and when Hermione was trapped by the troll, she needed him. And that was the beginnings of an infatuation.
Every night, he would visit her, having a whispered, one-sided conversation about their lessons, what homework they had been getting, Quidditch practices, how the mandrakes were getting on and most of all, how much he missed her. He ended each night with a hug, promising to visit soon.
Madam Pomfrey heard these night-time visits and, upon recognising the voice as Harry's, left him to it. When Hermione was freed from her petrified state, she told her of Harry's extra visits. Hermione would not confront Harry about this until late in their third year when, finally, they shared a kiss.
Also, if anyone is interested, I am currently working on a Johnlock one-shot with plans for a possible multi-chapter fic in the future (for Sherlock fans), a multi-chapter Phanfiction (for those in the Phandom), another chapter of "I'm Screaming Out" (my Waterloo Road fic) and more of "Don't Judge Me" (my Fred Weasley story).
