Home
As the taxi pulled up outside his home, he realized that this wasn't where he wanted to be. The Congo had disturbed him and he had realized just how lucky he was to live in a country like America. That wasn't what stopped him going home though. He was lucky to be alive. He knew that if he hadn't persevered on the man with the gunshot wounds, he probably wouldn't have survived the ambush on the clinic. He passed a small piece of paper through to the driver and sat back in his seat as they worked their way through the traffic packed centre of Chicago. Home.
He quietly turned his key in the door and closed it gently behind him, his bags left carelessly in the doorway. He crept silently into the dark bedroom and made his way round to the sleeping figure on the other side. He looked at her, his sleeping angel. He gently brushed her hair out of her face and kissed her softly on the forehead. He then made his way to the other side of the bed and laid beside her, moving himself to fit perfectly against her, his hand gently stroking her warm stomach. He was home.
