A/N: Ok my favorite part of the movie, ok actually one of my favorite parts of the movie is when Donnie finds out that Cherita actually liked him. So I'm going to make a little romance between the two n.n

Cherita ran down the hall. 'I can't believe I just told him to chut up what an idiot I am.' Cherita thought to herself. 'Crap and he has my ear muffs to.' She turned around to see if Donnie was still there, but unfortunately he wasn't. Nor were Cherita's ear muffs! She continued down the hall, hoping tomorrow that she could get her ear muffs back from Donnie Darko.
Donnie Darko walked home, Cherita Chen's earmuffs upon his head. 'Man the china bitch likes me. Damn, never figured that would happen.' He thought to himself. When he got home, he went to his room and held the ear muffs. "I wander why she wears these every single day. I mean what is so special about them?" Donnie spoke aloud to himself. Then suddenly it him.
These ear muffs......were his!
Flashback
Donnie about the age of 13 was standing at the bus stop. It had snowed the past night and it was freezing this morning. Cherita Chen walked up to the bus stop, sneezing and shivering uncontrollably. Donnie looked at her quickly, then looked at the ground. 'She's looks cold, maybe if I gave her my ear muffs, she'd warm up a little' Donnie thought to himself. He reached up and took the earmuffs off his head. He handed them to Cherita. "Here" he said to her. Without question she took them and placed them on her head, giving Donnie a slight smile. She wore those earmuffs almost every day ever since.
End flashback
Donnie chuckled at the memory. "So she's like me since that day." Donnie said to himself, again chuckling. He placed the earmuffs on his night stand and fell asleep almost instantly, still smiling at the thought of Cherita Chen liking him.
Donnie was the first at the bus stop the next morning. The earmuffs in his pocket. Samantha was at Star Search so she obviously wasn't going to school. Cherita was the next to show up. She didn't give one look at Donnie. Donnie pulled out the earmuffs and handed them to Cherita. "I think these are yours." He said after taking them out. "Thank you" she said taking them. Looked like no one else was showing up, fortunately for Donnie. He walked over to Cherita and gave her a peck on the cheek. He pulled away and Cherita stood there stunned. Her face quickly blushing. The bus pulled up not to longer later. Donnie got on, but Cherita continued to stay standing there. "Hey kid you coming?" The bus driver asked. "CHUT UP!" Cherita said and boarded the bus. That had to be the best day of her life.
