Sam was over in the next bed passed out dead asleep while Dean sat at the kitchen table drinking unable to sleep.

He was struggling with something he had finally recognized after all these years thanks to dying and coming back.

He had known it the very moment he had looked those Hell hounds in the eyes and died.

He, Dean Winchester the guy who could usually get any woman he wanted was deep very deeply in love with Bobby Singer.

Closing his eyes trying to brush that information from his mind he reached for another beer already drunk and wanting to get drunker still trying not to think.

Slowly he became aware of somebody sitting quietly beside him reaching over Castiel took the beer away from Dean and set it out of his reach.

"That's enough Dean how about instead of running from whatever is on your mind you instead talk about the problem?" Castiel asked eyebrows arched.

"Looking up at Castiel he sighed "Because I ...I have feelings for somebody and I know I shouldn't I knew it from the moment I saw those hell hounds."

Castiel raised his eyebrows higher with a half smile "it's okay to be in love with somebody it's okay love is love Dean..and sometimes the only thing you can do is talk to somebody about things like this."

Dean looked at Castiel with his vulnerability on his face "The truth is I'm afraid."

Castiel nodded "well the thing is you'll never know if you never try sometimes you will always miss opportunities."

"But what if..what if ..he doesn't wanna talk to me anymore? What if it makes the friendship we have now awkward and strained?" Dean asked looking at his knees.

"Dean? Who are you talking to in here?" the familiar voice of Sam asks from the bed.

Looking to his side he saw that Castiel had disappeared and he was alone at the table.

"Oh Castiel." Dean admitted honestly.

Sam nodded "now who were you talking about a moment ago? Who wouldn't talk to you again? Who would possibly feel awkward around you?"

Dean fidgeted and swallowed thinking of Castiel's advice and knew Sam would probably be the best person to voice it too.

Dean started to admit the truth when somebody knocked on the door and Bobby walks in with a newspaper clipping.

"Boys you gotta see this…" he stopped when he saw the flash of what looked like fear on Dean's face turn to a deadpan unreadable expression the same he wore when he didn't want other's to know something was wrong.

"Dean what's wrong?" but Dean had already clammed up and just smiles "it's nothing, what do you have?"

"Sam what's wrong with Dean?" Bobby asked.

Sam sighed "I almost got him to tell me but I guess for some reason he clammed up when you came in."

Dean was playing with the newspapers now trying to feign like he was fine.

Sam looked at Bobby "but get this just before you came in I heard him talking to the chair beside him and he said he was afraid somebody would stop talking to him and his relationship with him would get awkward.. When i asked who he was talking to he said Castiel but wouldn't say who he was talking about."

"Dean come on who do you think wouldn't talk to you again?" Bobby asked.

Dean looked up and the expression he was fighting to hold up fell and he responds harshly "It's You Bobby okay."
