A Half Empty Diner

Jasper has been wandering Pennsylvania for days, denying his bloodlust. One day, during the pouring rain, he shuffles into a small diner to appear human, and meets another vampire, a black-haired pixie, who changes his life, forever. R&R, Critique welcome

I glanced around at the pouring rain, and after only a moment's hesitation, ducked into a dimly lit, half empty diner. I shook my self, if only to brush off the droplets of rain until I left again. My eyes where dark as I glanced around, a tip-off that I was thirsty—for human blood, thirst having not gone un-sated as long as I could without snapping. A girl, young with a stature and figure reminiscent of a pixie or child, hopped off a tall barstool next to the counter. She grinned, her face lighting up as she saw me walk through the door. She took a few careful steps towards, though I could feel her anticipation, relief, confidence, and a few other emotions I couldn't quite place being so foreign to me. I myself had mixed emotions, but mostly shock at the moment. It was so strange, a young jet black haired lady, smiling happily, sauntering forwards to me, without as much as a hint of aggression. "You've kept me waiting a long time," she said at last, with a playfully angered tone. I just ogled at her, but reacted in the way I had been taught by my family; in a gentlemanly fashion. I ducked my head politely, saying, "I'm sorry ma'am," in a charming Southern accent and apologetic infliction. The girl just chuckled, smiling her thousand-watt smile, her laugh like wind chimes in a soft mid-summer breeze. She held out her hand like a lady, and I took it, placing a light kiss on the delicate fingers on her bony white hand. She just smiled and laughed again, seating herself on a barstool while I sat down next to her. While she launched into an explanation, I had finally deciphered the emotions I was feeling from her; happiness, joy, love, and of all emotions, hope. I then sat up a little straighter, listening carefully, as her ramblings would eventually lead to change our lives together, for potentially eternity.

First story, an oneshot about Jasper and Alice's first meeting. I wrote this down on a pad while hovering over Eclipse opened to Jasper's explanation of Alice and him first seeing each other. Please Rate and Review!
