Talent Night
By: Katy A

The Voyager crew was gathered in the mess hall for talent night. This is where people do something that other people didn't know about you.

B'Elanna Torres and Tom Paris just finished singing a duet together. After they were done Neelix come on the stage and said Tuvok was the next one to perform. When he said this everyone let out a moan, with the exception of Captain Janeway. Everyone didn't want to know what Tuvok would be performing. Whatever it was it was sure to be boring because Vulcans rarely did anything exciting, or so everyone thought.

Without any delay Tuvok came on the stage. He wore a simple brown robe and sat on a stool that he brought on stage with him. After he was seated he addressed the crowd.

" Since you don't like Vulcan poetry I'm going to play some of Falor's Journey on a Vulcan lute."

Tuvok began singing his voice calm and clear with a little hint of emotion in it and his quick nimble fingers moved across the instrument to play the right notes. Together they made a beautiful piece of music. Everyone was shocked at this; this normally emotionless Vulcan was showing a side of him no one ever thought he had a soft inner side.

When Tuvok was finished he turned to leave, but Captain Janeway spoke up.

" Tuvok, wait why don't you play the song you were writing?" Tuovk hesitated then slowly nodded then he told his audience that the song was called Voyager's Voyage sang his song with the same voice and instrument as the first one.

This song contained all the events Voyager went through. He even sang about the senior officers except for himself. When Tuvok finished everyone stood and clapped till their hands turned a beet red. Then with a swish of his robe Tuvok walked off the stage and headed straight out the mess hall door with Neelix on his tail trying to get him to sing every night.

Everyone started to file out to go to bed. Harry and Tom were among the crowd. They were in the hallway heading towards their quarters when Tom broke the silence between them.

"Tuvok really surprised me, Harry."

"Yeah, he wasn't boring he actually was interesting this time."

"Well, Harry don't get used to it, I'm sure after tonight Tuvok will probably never sing again. He will go back to being the boring, professional Tuvok." Tom said with a sigh.

" Yeah, you are probably right, but I know I will forget this talent night." Harry said with a smile.

"Me Too!" Tom said with great vigor.

After Tom's last comment the two friends found themselves at their quarters. They said their good nights and then fell asleep looking forward to the next day on Voyager where no doubt everyone would be talking about Tuvok's performance.
