It was a nice evening in a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo. A teenage girl is walking home from school. Her long brown hair is flowing in the cool breeze. She almost walks into a light pole because she isn't paying attention to where she's going. Her eyes are plastered to a small handheld game pad. Her cat ears twitch with excitement. She's on a boss fight.
Kisumi Yazawa is a 1st year high school student. She's also an avid gamer. But she isn't your normal student. She happens to be a Yokai with normal features other than cat ears and tail. However, there is no need to hide this. This is a part of Tokyo that all the Yokai come to, to attend school.
"Yes!" She exclaims as she finally beats the boss. Some kids passing notice and give her a weird look. She tucks it away in her jacket pocket and breathes a sigh of relief. She pushes open the gate and unlocks the door of her home. "I'm home." She says as she opens it taking off her shoes inside the door, but no one is there to welcome her. "Mom must be at work. Well…good time to continue on in the game then!" Rushing up stairs, she just drops her backpack on the floor. She powers on her nerve gear and logs into the game once more.
Arabella Online is a game that Kisumi has been playing since it came out. She's a level 100 Mage. She has spent countless hours running dungeons, crafting, and questing inside this magick world. So much so, that she doesn't have many friends at school. Most students aren't very interested in games but games are Kisumi's life. Her dad left when she was 3 years old. Since then, Kisumi has been finding peace, happiness, and friendship inside the world of video games.
As soon as she logs in, a message appears in a box. Kizumi, please meet up at the usual place. Attendance is mandatory. Kizumi is the name of her in game character. She smiles knowing this is from her guild and teleports to Alzuno. She looks around for a bit but no one appears. Sitting under a tree, she waits. A boy appears, seeming to be lost. She watches him as he looks around aimlessly. Finally, he spots her, blushes a little, then walks over.
"H…hey…You're Kizumi right? I…I've been watching you. Your fighting style is…It's very unique. I was wondering if maybe…you could help me out?" She looks at him as she stands up. Slightly confused she blinks at him. "Help you? Who are you?" He rubs the back of his head, "haha sorry! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Kenji, your new guild leader." Her eyes grow wide and her jaw drops. "Excuse me? What? The new guild leader?!"
