Author's Note
I'm not going to keep you for long, since you're obviously dying to get on to reading and all, but I just wanted to take the time to throw in a couple of things about the story.
When I write, I take forever to do so. Whether it's due to irony or coincidence or any of those sorts of things, my writing also takes forever to get places. You're probably going to read the first couple of chapters and probably wonder if there's any plot at all, seeing as it takes me paragraphs upon paragraphs to get past five-minute's worth of real time in the story. Don't let this discourage you from reading, though. I promise the story will go places, but it'll take time and patience (both on yours and my part).
Any and all feedback you can give me on the story (including criticism of the constructive variety) would be wonderful. I'll try to update as often as possible, too, though I'll admit I'm not the type of author that can pump out a chapter per day.
In any event, hope you like the story!
