My heart was pounding, the sound echoing in my ears.
I could feel the blood coursing through my veins, through my body.
I was vaguely aware that I was lying down next to somebody, and
when I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was my partner's
inviting hazel eyes, full of feeling, looking barely a foot
over my own blue eyes. His hair was tousled and plastered to his
fave with sweat, as if he had been engaged in some sort of
strenuous physical activity. When he moved, I could feel the
matress shift, and when he spoke, I could hear the love in
his voice.
"Scully?" He asked, moving from his spot on the
edge of my hospital bed, "Are you ok?"
