Okay, this is my first try at a story, just so you know, so sorry if it's kind of bad, and is really OOC!!
It takes place right before Thriller Bark, so spoilers for anyone not there yet.
Disclaimer: I do not own One Piece, even though I wish I did! Oh, and I made up a few of the characters in here, though.
It had been a usual day on the Strawhats new ship, Thousand Sunny, when Nami had just spotted land off in the distance. The town seemed normal, but there were no other ships docked in the harbor. None of the crew paid much attention to this, though.
"Okay, everyone. Lets just pick up a few supplies here, then we can continue." She explained as they docked at the harbor and headed out into town. Sanji, as he always did, went to pick up the food supplies with the help of Chopper. Ussop and Franky went to get supplies in case the ship got attacked, but they were followed by Luffy, who got anything interesting that he saw. Robin and Nami went shopping, and Zoro stayed to watch the boat.
"Hey, Sanji?" Chopper said up to his crew mate as they were walking along the streets of the small town looking for some food and kitchen supplies. "Did you notice that big mountain over there?"
"Of course. Why? What about it?" Sanji asked looking down curiously at his reindeer friend.
"There's just something odd about it." Chopper shook his head as he looked at the ground.
"If it bothers you too much, we can just ask about it." Sanji and Chopper walked into a small fruit shop and over the man that worked behind the counter.
"Hello, there! What may I help you with?" The man asked joyfully.
"Um...can I get a few of these, and about a dozen of these?" Sanji answered, kneeling down to look at his selection and pointing at the fruits he wanted. The man began to pick up the fruits chosen, and Sanji took his chance to ask about the mountain. "Excuse me, sir, but what do you know about that mountain on the other side of the island?"
The man froze, and his eyes narrowed. "I suggest that you not go there. A legend lives on the this land, about an evil source over in that mountain. Nobody knows what it is, but it has killed all who venture over there." As Sanji gave the man money in exchange for the fruits, the man turned away quickly and went through a door at the back of the counter then probably lead outside.
"Well, Chopper. You were right. There is definitely something strange about that mountain." Sanji commented as the two nakama left the shop.
The man from the fruit shop ran out the back door of his store and into the forest nearby. He hurried until he reached a small cave at the base of the island. When he entered it, he went down some stairs where he reached a room lit with torches. Another man was sitting at a chair at the end other side of the room. The fruit shop man kneeling before him. "Sir! I have met one of the pirates from that crew that docked here!"
"Oh, Really? Go on, Juro, I'm listening." The man in the chair had a cold voice, that sounded both annoyed and angry.
"Y-yes, master! He was with this reindeer and he asked about the mountain!"
"Hmm...What did you tell him?"
"I told him to not go there, and that everyone who has gone there has been killed."
"Good, good... Find his crew mates and lead them here. Tatsuo is getting hungry." The man smiled cruely and Juro ran back into town in search of the Strawhats.
