Tony was sitting silently in the bullpen, staring blankly at Ziva s empty desk. No one knew how much she meant to him, and now, they d never know. He opened his phone, and searched down his phone book for Ziva s name. It was unusual not to hear from her, even after what had happened. Ziva blamed him for Rifkin s death, and she had every right to. It was his fault. But he was protecting himself, and nothing else. He cared so much for Ziva, and he knew from the first time he met Michael, that he was trouble. But nothing mattered anymore, she was gone, and no one knew where she was. He sighed gently to himself, returning his eyes to her desk.
-FLASHBACK-
T: I had no choice
Z: That s a lie
T: Why would I lie to you Ziva?
Z: To save your worthless ass
T: From who?
He said sternly walking towards her
T: Vance? Mossed?
Z: You jeopardized your entire career and for what?
T: For you.......
He sighed gently; he would hurt her saying this
T: He was playing you Ziva
-END OF FLASHBACK-
He placed his head in the palm of his hand, sighing softly. He just wanted her back where she belonged, with the team, with him. He stood up at his desk, and walked swiftly over to McGee s desk
M: The answer is no Tony
T: You don t even know what I was going to ask?
M: Yes I do, I haven t heard anything from Ziva either
McGee turned his eye contact to Tony. He could tell that Tony had some feeling for Ziva, and he felt he had to say something
M: She ll be back when she s ready Tony. Just give her some space, she ll come round
Tony took a gradual sigh as he heard Gibbs voice echo through the empty office
G: Marine found dead in his apartment. Gear up
Tony grabbed his backpack and holster from his desk, and trailed McGee. He knew it was never going to be the same without Ziva here, and he could see the effect it was having on the rest of the team
-----------
Ziva lied silently in a dull bunk bed, fiddling with the Star of David round her neck. She had been away from Washington DC for nearly 3 months now. She thought she would have shifted all memory, and have been able to focus at the job in hand. But somehow, there was something holding her back. She had spent nearly 2 days trying to figure out what this was. She turned onto her right side, and stared at the picture beside her on the wall. It was a photo of her, Ari and her sister Tali. She missed her sister dearly. She had died in a Hamas suicide bombing when she was 16. She traced her little sister s black hair, and sighed softly. All the people she loved seemed to have disappeared. Ari, Tali, Jenny. She couldn t cope with losing someone else. She lied back again on the sweat stained bed sheets, and thought of Tony. All the anger that she had once had for him was now gone, and replaced with guilt. She knew deep down in her heart that he would never have killed Michael without good reason. She wanted to turn back time, do things differently. Or even just to return to NCIS, apologize. As a guard entered her room, she sat up, and spoke to him in Hebrew. She then noticed the uniform he was wearing, and the buttoned that he had firmly clasped in his hand. It was a bomb......
