It was a fine spring day, and Peep was sitting by the pond with his good friend Quack. "Hey, where's Chirp?" he asked Quack. "Eh, probably late." Quack shrugged (which is weird to think about considering he and Peep have no arms). "Hey, want to see me swim fast? Quack asked. Peep had heard him ask this question hundreds of times, but he didn't want to hurt his friend's feelings. "Okay." Peep said. "Alright. Here I go!" Quack jumped in the pond and started kicking his feet.
Around the same time, Chirp started to come over. "Look at me! I'm a fast swimmer! I'm better than any swimmer who swims here!" Quack bragged. Chirp then came over and sat down next to Peep. "Is he bragging about himself again?" Chirp asked annoyed. "Yep." Peep responded. "Hey, Chirp! Look at me! I'm the best swimmer in the world!" Quack continued to brag. "I'm especially better than you two because you're both chicks, and I'm an adult!" "Did he just say he's better than me and call me a chick?" Chirp asked, with the latter part being a reference to the fact that she's a red robin. "It's okay. We shouldn't be too surprised he's saying this because he has this reputation." Peep assured.
While Quack kept on swimming and bragging to the far end of the pond, Peep asked Chirp: "So, why were you late?" Chirp knew it was time to confess her feelings to Peep. "Because I was trying to decide if it's time. I think it is." Chirp said. "Time for what? Ahaircut? Making a new friend? Inventing something that was never invented before?" Peep asked. Chirp's blushing grew stronger and stronger. Peep noticed this. "Is something wrong?" he asked. Chirp didn't say anything. Instead, she got her face closer to Peep's and locked lips (or beaks) with him.
'Wowie zowie!' thought Peep. 'Was she in love with me this whole time?' However, Peep didn't mind the kiss really. So he kissed Chirp back. 'Oh my goodness! He's kissing me back!' thought Chirp. She then thought the phrase "Oh my goodness" over 5 times. When the kiss was done, Peep told Chirp: "That was nice." "Y-yeah. It was." Chirp said. "You know Chirp, that kiss made me realize something. I want to be more than just friends. I want to be boyfriend and girlfriend!" Peep announced. Chirp went ecstatic inside her head at this news. "I would like that. Yes, we should be a couple." She said. Peep smiled. Chirp smiled back. "I love you Chirp." Peep said. "I love you too Peep." Chirp said back. The two were gonna kiss again when suddenly, Quack spoke up. "Awww! You two are so adorable together!"
"Quack?! Were you watching us the whole time?!" Chirp asked. "I saw you two kiss and say you're a couple now!" Quack said. "That is just the cutest thing!" "Er. Thanks, Quack." said Chirp. "Yeah, thanks Quack!" Peep said. "No problem!" Quack said. "If you need me, I'll be collecting some food. I'll leave you two lovebirds alone." With that, Quack took off to find himself lunch. Peep and Chirp looked at one another, then smiled. Then the two of them kissed again, this time prepared. After that, the couple laid down next to each other, looking at the clouds in the sky, saying what the clouds looked like.
