Chapter 1: Where it all began

"Hey, who stole half of the bread!" The shopkeeper yelled in horror seeing most of his bread gone almost without a sight of the victim who could've been guilty of stealing. The only one who could have been responsible for the act was the brat running away from his fine establishment.

most of the people in the market were now spectating the annoyed man chase after a kid smaller than most his age. The man pursued the kid, who then made a swift turn to a small street which ended up with the man slamming into a wall. "Damn that little squeaker for stealing my stuff again! It must be the same kid every time running around with different cloaks thinking he's cool."

The shopkeeper sat down and sighed in annoyance. The whole market went quiet at the sight of a man wearing more royal clothes than anyone else around. On both of his sides were two males resembling guards stopping anyone from getting near the long blonde haired male. "Was it the kid again?" He gave the shopkeeper a hand who nodded looking more timid than before.

"He vanishes quicker than he appears. Heard he's an Ackerman too, those filthy kindreds should learn some manners!" The blonde haired male wearing a blue expensive jacket offered his hand to the shopkeeper again this time for a different reason. "An Ackerman huh, That's interesting. Well anyway my name is Arne Weidenmann nice to meet you even though the circumstances aren't all that pleasant."

"M-Magnus Ungar, Pleased to meet you Mr. Weidenmann what may someone like you be doing roaming these streets?"

"I was just enjoying my time until I heard that kid caused some havoc here once again. Why has he not been caught?"

"He's way too quick for any of us to catch. " Magnus saw Arne getting angrier by the second.

"I'm sorry, the next time that kid comes here I promise I'll-" Magnus was stopped by a hand touching his shoulder.

"Don't you panic now this isn't for you to be taken care of. Thomas, Steven go back to my home and inform someone that 50 Military Police members shall be searching these streets! They won't have a single break until the kid's house has been found!" The whole market, including the guards were amazed by how much effort needs to be put in one kid. But no one dares to say a word against him.

"Roger!" The two guards left running back to Mr. Weidenmann's home.

"Most of Wall Rose has read about the article in the newspaper where that kid embarrassed my sister in front of everyone. I want to find him within two days. If the Military Police doesn't manage that they'll be the ones embarrassed next. The government won't be happy after seeing that. I've only given the orders. No one can blame me even not the government because I do have my connections to them. Of course I don't expect the police to be that sloppy." Arne Weidenmann left the scene talking to his assistants in a wagon well guarded.

Son Ackerman arrived home gasping for air through a window after just fleeing from the market. "Were you stealing once again, son?" Marvin Ackerman, Son's father stepped out of a room.

"It's all I'm really good for isn't it?" Son didn't look up at his father knowing exactly the face he had. "Something positive is that the bullies weren't around." Son Ackerman has been bullied most of his life. He is an easy picking due to his height and strength. He can't stand up to others his age.

"Well, I have found one solution that could eventually solve all of our current problems." Now, Son looked up to his father thinking over what could solve the situation they've been in for ages now.

"Since this house is going to be found anyways, might as well make you escape. You'd never need to come back to this rusty house, or see my face again."

"What's wrong with seeing your face. All you've ever done is good to me." Son raised his eyebrows in question of his father's decision to leave himself out.

"Well the government has sent police to find our house am I right? That means we don't have much time so you'll be leaving soon. Today or tomorrow." Marvin explicated his plan.

"Where will I go? I can't survive alone."

"Have I ever told you about the Ackermans?"

"No, I thought it was just our surname." The reality was Son never knew what the Ackermans have been capable of. It was time for him to learn just what potential must dwell inside his body too.

"A long time ago the Ackerman's were a bloodline of warriors, destined to protect the king We were their right hand. Then came a king who wanted peace, but the Ackermans weren't about that type of life. We rejected the King's volition and turned our backs on the monarchy. Of course they didn't like that but the Ackerman's were simply uncontrollable. After that many started persecuting us and we'd escape to places all around. There dwells a power inside us. We call it awakening. It makes our physical abilities go beyond any average human. It's like we're titans but in a human form. It's not automatic, which you must've noticed. It'll need to be triggered. I thought your mother's death was it but no, you're quite the unlucky Ackerman. All I can do is hope that the power would someday awaken inside you and then you could show everyone including the bullies, the government, and the titans exactly who you are."

A silence screamed through the house. Son was wordless after hearing just who his family is.

"Go to the training corps. The government can come for me, throw me to jail even, it's just that they won't harm you is what matters to me. Remember everything I've taught you true the years. You're no coward when you don't want to be. The inner power can come whenever it wants to you'll still survive just fine. You'd be safe with the military police but I know you won't join them. And I don't really want you to either. Do what feels right." A tear shed from Marvin's cheek but he knew that he'd done the best he could to ensure his sons safety.

"I will come back for you dad. I promise that." Son looked at his father possibly for the last time ever. All the memories of them having fun or not so much fun came in.

"No titan will look at me as a puny human when I come back to meet you. It'll be the other way around."

"I know that. Now go!" Son had already packed his stuff and took a look at his homes walls and floor, tables, cabinets.

Son opened the door and turned around for the last time. "I'll avenge mom." Son assured before closing the door.

"Find the goddamn home for god's sake you damn pests! Stop lurking around like your actually doing something."

Military Police were flooding all around the streets where the incident happened inspecting homes, which of course annoyed people who had nothing to do with the current investigation and didn't know a thing what was going on.

"Mr, I think we've found a street where the kid could be living. Some civilians told they'd see him run that way often so from that I'd speculate he lives this way. Do you agree with me on moving the police who're searching there to get them come this way?" The police were scared to talk but this man was a brave one.

"I inspire you managing to actually talk to me. Go inform them that they shouldn't search there and split more groups this way."

Arne Weidenmann has a thing for the brave ones. Most of the police barely manage to mumble words out of their mouths at all. Arne has the connections to make any police regret their decision on ever joining in a matter of seconds. The government and the royals have respect for Arne who's made great conclusions to make the walls safer as well as the humans inside it.

Son Ackerman was now on his way to join the Training Corps. His frustration could be heard from the way he sharply breathed through his nose. His dad gave him a necklace with a cross to remember him from. He didn't have it on his neck but kept it in his hands in a hard grip. It was his mothers necklace that Marvin had kept in the safest place of the house. Since the police would come in to search the whole house looking for Son it was better for him to take the necklace with him.

The trip felt like it took ages, one of the reasons being the driver had the be so extra safe a little bump was a sign of stopping the whole carriage. He could walk faster to the location but there was no need to create more chaos that what's been already done. At least he'd have time to prepare for the hard training. After that probably dying to a titan but it is what it is. In this awful world you'll just have to live with it.

What is it that's so scary about dying. After that you wouldn't need to worry about the walls getting breached or in Son's case the royal rich male being after him with all the police thingy. That'd ruin everything his father did just to ensure Son's safety and risking his own. Avenging his mother too. It's the easy way made for the ones who don't want to put in the work. That's the cowards way of getting through it.

"Boss, I think we've found the home." Arne jumped up from his seat and followed the police who sounded certain of the finding the right home. Some police were already outside but all of them had multiple times been roared in the ear that Arne's the one stepping in to the house first. Instead of getting into a house the casual way of trying to open the door or knocking Arne slammed it down with his leg.

"Is the goddamn kid here?!" Arne screamed from the top of his lungs only to see a male enjoying tea in a table all alone. Arne advanced with no hesitation and grabbed the male's shirt.

"Damn, you spilled my tea. Anyway at last you managed to get here, I've been expecting you." Marvin smiled his his blue shirt now dripping tea to the floor.

Arne clinched his fist, frustratingly shouting "Where is the kid?!" while some spit flew to Marvin's shirt too.

"I'm afraid the kid is long gone, your majesty." Marvin bowed seeing that police were coming in with handcuffs.

"In this cruel world things happen, and I'd guess that they didn't go exactly as you've planned. Too late dumbass!" Marvin grumbled before getting hit to the abdomen my a police. He spat some blood to the floor that was somewhat already covered in tea, making the combination look like quite the liquid.

"You'll tell us where he is or your going to have a hard time in jail for the rest of your poor life!" The police began threatening Marvin with different things to see if that'd knock some sense to his brain.

"I'm pretty sure I'll be heading to jail anyway, for keeping the kid who's guilty of breaking the law multiple times hidden when you released that so called bounty on him after the incident with your sister was it?." Marvin laughed knowing another strike was coming at him. It was Arne getting furious with a kick hitting Marvin right in the forehead, managing to break his glasses and a bruise was already forming on the forehead as well.

"Maybe we could make your time a little bit shorter, let's say 50 years. Oh, you'll be dead by that time already." Arne followed with Marvin's stupid jokes himself. Maybe it was to hide the anger inside him. The police were already backing down from Arne to make sure they don't become his targets.

"Arne, could I ask you one more thing before you knock me out or throw me to jail?" Marvin raised his head still holding one of his hands on the sore forehead. There was a swelling already from the hard hit.

"Ask away old man." Arne still kept the old joke going and he began laughing, of course all the police fake laughed with him not wanting to make a bad impression to such an big benefit guy.

Marvin started laughing too which shocked all the police. They've injured him and yet he's here just laughing with us.

"Why the hell are you still here with all the police talking and hurting me while you could be already looking out where your target has gone?"

"Because we're trying to get you to share out some words where exactly that kid could've gone."

Marvin spat another pile of blood before getting ready for another hit.

"I won't spit out nothing else than blood. I have a hatred against you for chasing a little kid just because he's embarrassed your sister. Well that was in public and made your reputation fall down from the charts for awhile. But it doesn't mean you should be making him pay. I saw what happened then, you were a part of the accident, knobhead. I'm good for nothing else than protecting him. I'll die a happy death in your hands knowing my son is right now getting away. I'll die in jail but he'll make you lot pay for ever messing around with OUR family. He's experienced enough agony. It's time for him to enjoy the violent deaths of you. The Weidenmann's will perish in the Ackerman's hands!" Arne slammed his hand to Marvin's face which knocked him out.

"Some of you take that man out of here, right to jail while the rest will find the kid and bring him right over to me." Arne's impression was frantic enough the police vanished from the house in seconds.

Aaaaaand that was it for the first chapter! I will tend to make longer chapters from here on. Leave your opinions of this in the reviews and if you have any ideas for where this could go I might make your suggestions affect the storyline. We'll meet up again in the next chapter.
