Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Keepers or Finn or Charlene or Mrs. Whitman or Disney (who does own Disney? Walt's dead) or Splash Mountain (I hate that ride because when I went on it it malfunctioned and it took us half an hour to go through and we had to watch those scary animatronics) or cars (this is getting weird) or anything (like in this story. I don't live in my car. I couldn't anyway because I just said I don't own cars)
I've made a sad discovery that everybody who reads my Finn/Charlene stories likes Amanda more. Doesn't anybody like Charlene? Amanda's way better. Okay, please don't hate me, but she's a selfish bitch (sorry) who only cares about herself and will not help others if it comes at personal risk. She wouldn't help Finn in the ride and then she yelled at him for "sweet talking" Charlene. Charlene's so much better.
If there's anybody who likes Charlene please tell me and I will favorite you as an author!
Anyway, here's my story!
Charlene looked in the mirror, examining her shimmery red gown. It was beautiful, down to the last little detail. Her blonde hair was tied back in an elaborately done bun that trailed down her back.
"You ready?" Finn's voice called from the hall. "Mom says we have to be there by 6!"
Charlene gave one last look at the dress before opening the door. "Almost. I've got to put on lip gloss. I can't believe we're supposed to be all made up for this."
"The DHIs have been going for a year now," Finn reminded her. "That's a pretty big occasion."
Charlene shook her head but didn't say anything, busy putting on the lip gloss. Finally, she pulled on her shoes and ran after Finn out the door. Mrs. Whitman was waiting with the car.
"Thanks for driving me," Charlene said politely. "It was really nice."
"Finn wouldn't hear of anything else," Mrs. Whitman said pleasantly. "It's a pleasure."
He couldn't hear of anything else? Did he like her? No, that was silly. Why would he?
But when Mrs. Whitman turned to focus on the road, Finn turned to her. "You look gorgeous," he said easily.
"Thanks," she said, blushing. Maybe he did like her. But after all, she probably did look nice tonight. She was wearing plenty of makeup and a $200 dress, after all.
Finn grinned and glanced at his mom in the front of the car. She was smiling about something. Maybe she was proud of the way Finn looked or something. He did look nice, but not extremely spectacular. He was just wearing dark jeans and a suit coat.
"We're gonna ride a float on Main Street," Finn said. "Wayne said after that we're allowed to ride things. This is like the one time we're allowed to be in Disney World."
Charlene giggled because the one time they were "allowed" to be in Disney was the time when she was wearing clothing so impractical she couldn't ride anything anyway. Oh well, it wasn't like she hadn't been in Disney for a while. She just hadn't had permission. "Oh, cool," she managed to say over her giggles. "I can just see myself on Splash Mountain now."
Finn laughed too, but Mrs. Whitman only smiled. "At least you look amazing," he said. He did appear to be joking around, but not like that. He really did think she looked amazing.
"Thanks," she said again. We're not starting that again, are we? she wondered. But it didn't matter. She didn't care. As she giggled, she noticed Mrs. Whitman was still smiling.
Did you like it? I hope you did! (My routine again) Please review my story! You can say why you didn't like it if you don't! And again, please say if you like Charlene! It seems like me and my sister are alone in the world! Why does everybody like Amanda? What could she possibly do that makes you like her?
Sorry for being bitter. Was I being bitter? Maybe I'm getting so bitter I don't notice.
Linley :)
