Different take on "Lockdown"

"Did you ever love me at all?" Chase asked Cameron. He had his back to her, his hand on his heart.

"I don't know."

What! "You don't know! Either you loved me or you didn't!" He turned to face her, shocked.

Cameron sighed, "No. "

Chase gasped. One hand steadied him on the exam table, the other clutching his heart. He was suddenly dizzy, couldn't get his breath. His ears were ringing.

"Chase!" yelled Cameron. She rushed to his side and tried to put her arms around him.

"Get away from me!" He yelled, furious. "So all I was to you was a good lay, then. Explains how you could throw our vows away so quickly. In sickness and in health. We pledged to stand by each other, and once the going got tough, you bailed."

By now he had tears streaming down his face. Just go.

"What about the div…" Cameron started to say.

"The divorce papers!" Chase sobbed. "Is that all you care about! Well, fine. He grabbed them and furiously scribbled his name, then threw them across the room. "Take them and get out." He said in a flat voice.

"Robert, don't be like this," Cameron pleaded.

He just looked at her, his eyes dead and said, "Why do you care? You obviously never did care. You'll find someone else to soon enough."
