You Can't Fight Fate
"Weasley! Wait up!"
"SCORPIUS!" Rose Weasley turned round furiously as Scorpius Malfoy rocked up beside her. "What do you want?"
"Woah. Someone woke up on the side of bed, didn't they?" Scorpius smirked.
"Shut up." Rose scowled.
"Being as I'm such an inconvenience to you, dear, you could at least let me carry your bag…"
"Merlin's beard! What the hell is wrong with you? Why can't you just LEAVE ME ALONE!" Rose's face flushed red in fury as she stormed away. Scorpius ran a hand through his hair in dismay. Would she ever see he wanted her so badly?
Dear Mum and Dad,
Thank you for your letter. Hugo is fine. He's so busy with school work, he says he can't write back just yet, but told me to tell you he is okay. He says he will write back soon.
I'm doing well in my classes, but am really trying hard to study for my OWLs. Were the teacher's so hard on you when you were at Hogwarts? I really want to do well though, so I am revising as much as possible. Thank you for the books, Mum! They've really given me an advantage. I received my potions essay back the other day and I got an O. But then Scorpius saw and he laughed and called me a teacher's pet.
He is so irritating! He keeps following me everywhere, teasing me, never leaving me alone! Luckily he can't get into Gryffindor common room or the girl's dorms though, so I do get some privacy. I wish he would go away once in a while. When Victoire wrote she said that 'Scorpius obviously loves you Rosie! You can't fight fate.' Isn't that preposterous?
Anyway, I must go now. I just have time to take this letter to the owlery before I go down to dinner.
My love always
Rosie xx
Rose put down her quill, leaving it on her bedside table. She sealed the letter before heading down to the owlery. Pushing open the door, she caught a glimpse of an oh-too-familiar blonde head. Rose tried to quickly back out the door but alas, Scorpius had sensed her presence and turned around.
"Going somewhere? It's just…usually people come to the owlery to post a letter." He smirked. Rose strolled right by him, coaxing down an owl from the top perch. It landed on her arm. She attached the letter to it's leg, and let it fly from the window.
"Oh come on, Rose. I'm not all that bad." Rose was shocked. Scorpius had never called her by her first name before. She shot him a silent glare, beginning to walk out.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for whatever I've done to upset you!" Scorpius called. Rose halted and sighed. What had he done to upset her…?
"N-no." She turned around slowly. "I'm sorry. You never did anything to upset me. Not directly anyway."
"So why do you hate me so much?"
"I don't hate you." Rose said.
"Okay…I believe you." Scorpius said coldly, walking past her through the door.
"Scorpius! Wait!" Rose grabbed his arm, pulling him back. She pulled him towards her, pressing her lips to his. She felt his arms go around her waist and instinctively linked hers around his neck. She never thought something could feel so right…
Unfortunately, after a while she had to pull away.
"Still think I hate you?" She asked.
"Oh, I'll take some convincing…" Scorpius winked before pulling her back to him.
Before his lips touched hers for the second time in five minutes a thought popped into Rose's head...
You can't fight fate.
