It was a bright and beautiful morning. The blades of grass and thick, luscious trees were a light green, the river that streamed across the side of the village turned from its midnight blue to a serene aqua color, and the wind blew soundlessly throughout the forests as it swept across the village. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, and the sun was shining in all its glory, while the moon tucked away until the stars came out to illuminate the night again. The birds were chirping playfully, the owls and creatures of the night just hiding away for their daily slumber, all while two lovers and mates for life were just getting up and eating breakfast.

Kagome was 8 months pregnant and just about to finish her miko training for good and become one of the most powerful priestesses Japan had ever known; in other words, she was completely satisfied with her life. Not to mention her favorite hanyou in the world, Inuyasha, the one person she truly loved above all things and the one who made her life complete. Without him, she would have no motivation to wake up in the morning, without him, she would not have the will to live.

She had endured that painful dull void for three years after the Shikon Jewel was destroyed. She felt empty, like there was no room for feeling anymore, that is, until she was finally able to come back.

Inuyasha felt the exact same way without her. Ever since she left, he was so desperate to be able to see her again, to smell her beautiful smell of delightful roses, even to eat the ramen she always brought back. He loved her, everything about her, and now that he had her, he wasn't about to let go anytime soon.

They were both sitting across from each other in their family-sized tatami room, giving occasional glances from one to the other as they eat their meal in peaceful silence. Kagome gave a smirk as she thought 'It's time I told him', while Inuyasha looked up briefly, confused on what she was smiling at his copper orbs met her brown ones.

"Hey Inuyasha, I think I have an idea on a name for our child if it is a girl…"

Inuyasha and Kagome never quite decided on a girl's name yet. He was a bit surprised; they haven't talked too much about that subject in a while, believe it or not.

"OK, what is it?" He was really curious now, usually shed just come up with one and say, "How about…" instead of leading up to it.

"Izayoi."

Inuyasha sucked in a quick breath; he wasn't expecting his mother's name to appear on the list.

"You would name her after my mom?"

"Of course! She went through so much and all; I think she deserves to have our child named after her. I wish I could have met her, I'm positive I would have liked her. It is truly a beautiful name." She had a full blown smile on by now.

Inuyasha was in awe that Kagome would do that; he did really think it was a great idea. He grinned, a real Inuyasha grin of happiness and contentedness.

"I wish you could have met her too, she would have loved you just as much as I do. Thank you so much, that's a brilliant idea!" His voice was soft, scarcely a whisper as he said, "I love you Kagome."

"I love you too sweetie! It'll be the perfect name! I am so glad we decided for a little girl- I'm really excited!"

Kagome kissed Inuyasha on the cheek before she left to finish her miko training. Inuyasha shook his head as they wordlessly glanced at each other with all the happiness in the world, and Kagome left. One month later, they had a beautiful girl named Izayoi, the first of many children as they lived the rest of their lives without another inkling of suffering.
