Kavalar Coppernight was not known for his subtly nor his charm, rather is bluntness and bullheadedness. He was a Dwarf of normal stature stockily built, with a dark complection from the years he had spent in countless expeditions, his red hair pulled back into a red ponytail. His green eyes seemed like stones set in a chiseled face. When one looked at him they would assume he was a warrior not a scholar at the college. He looked up and around at the council, these men would decide the course he was to take. Right then his eyes where glaring up at the seat of the towns mayor, Jerriod Thell. Kavalar shifted his weight on the ax he used as a walking stick as he thought of how to respond to the question that had been asked to him. It should have been a simple request to grant, the fact it was taking this long was bothering him. Jerriod was a good man. That much Kavalar would give him. In fact he had known the young human since his birth. It was the others sitting around the town mayor. The Council.

He sneered to himself as he looked at the other members of the council. 'This is what you get when you let those damn savages have a say,' he thought, 'Gnolls and Orcs aint civil. If I was in charge I'd kill them all.'

"Perhaps you didn't hear me Kavalar," the throughty growling voice of Gar'rak Arrak'far'jar asked, "What of the fact that it is sacred land to my people? You are asking us to condone the desecration of a site that my people hold in reverence."

He knew he had to chose his words carefully that is what had taken him this long to answer. Seeing the faces of the council though he knew he had run out of time and he had to answer now. Leaning forward with both hands on the ax and looking straight at the large Gnoll he studied him self and then answered.

"The site you say is so sacred is the ruins of the city that my great great grandfather founded. A whole clan almost wiped out by your people. They hold it in reverence because of the blood they shed.I go to claim what is mine by right. Now the council can give me permission or I will take it back with even more bloodshed."

Leaning forward over the bar at which they sat the Gnoll snarled baring his teeth.

"That is enough!" Jerriod shouted to be heard over his counterpart, "Leave this chamber Kavalar. We will call for you when we have made our decision. Know this however if you do anything that would bring harm to any members of this valley this council will have no choice then to take action against you."

Kavalar laughed as he turned and limped from the room. Adding, "Then make the right choice Jerriod. Then make the right choice."
