Elder McKinley is sick of being called "Elder" by Kevin.

Yes, he knows it's a rule and that you're supposed to call the other Elders "Elder," but they're already breaking so many rules that it seems stupid for Kevin to continue calling him "Elder."

It makes him feel like their relationship isn't real, or like Kevin is ashamed to be with him.

So when Kevin goes to visit Elder McKinley that night, just like usual, Elder McKinley takes a chance. He presses his mouth onto the other boy's, pouring more emotion into it than he ever has for anything else. And when he pulls away, he whispers, "Tell me, Kevin, was that real?"

Kevin blinks. "Um. Wow. Yeah. I think that was real."

"Then why won't you say my name? It's always 'Elder McKinley.' That's not a real relationship."

"I…just…it doesn't feel…"

Elder McKinley moves closer to Kevin. "I just want to hear my name come out of your mouth. Why is that so much to ask?"

"Elder…" Kevin begins, then stops when he sees Elder McKinley's face, the pleading in his eyes. "Connor McKinley. I'm sorry, I don't know why I can't…"

"Shhh…" Elder McKinley rests his head on top of Kevin's. "That was all I needed to hear."
