We're Not Just Partners
"You changed history." He inched closer, "how many people get to say that?"
"You do! Every arrest you make, you change history, Booth." She took a step forward.
"With your help." He said. She smiled.
She was in a daze. Her eyes hadn't left his since they began talking. He something about Andrew, she wasn't really listening.
He couldn't believe how beautiful she looked. When she finished talking all he could say was "yeah".
They both inched closer until their lips finally met. The kiss was full of emotion and words that had been left unspoken. Her arms draped around his neck and his arms around her waist. They deepened the kiss.
Angela walked though the door and her mouth dropped open followed by Cam's smile, Sweets and Daisy's sigh, and Hodgins clearing his throat.
They broke away and looked up to see everyone staring down at them. They smiled, Booth took Brennan's hand, and they walked up the stairs.
"C'mon, you're going to miss the party." Brennan said to everyone as she and Booth walked out the room.
"Did anyone just see what I think I saw?" Angela asked everyone.
"Yeah I think so." Cam replied and they all walked back to the party.
Angela spotted Brennan and pulled her aside so she could get some answers.
"Okay sweetie, spill!" she said enthusiastically.
"I don't know what that means." She said to her friend honestly.
"Oh c'mon, Brennan! Don't pretend that we never walked in on you kissing Booth."
"Well…."she was blushing.
"Oh never mind." And she walked away. "But you are telling me every little detail later!" she winked. Brennan just smiled.
"Dude, Way to go!" Hodgins said as he approached Booth.
Booth just smiled. Then the music turn to a soft romantic ballad.
"Dance with her." Hodgins smiled and walked away.
"Hey Bones, do you want to dance?" Booth asked with an outstretched hand. She smiled and took it.
They danced and leaned forehead to forehead. Blue met brown and it seemed as the world around them had suddenly stopped. They like peaceful and happy. Angela, Hodgins, Cam, Sweets, and Daisy all smiled the watched the couple dance.
Brennan and Booth felt the stares but they didn't care, all they needed was each other. Nothing in the world could possibly be bigger than their love and care for each other. So they danced, and danced as if there was no tomorrow. From that day on Seeley Booth and Temperance Brennan were truly the best crime solving team in America. They never said the words "were just partners" again.
