Chapter 1: Punch Drunk Love

Another day had just ended at Sokomato Secondary School, and a spiky-haired young boy was just getting ready to start training at the local gym. As Sanosuke Sagara pulled on his boxing gloves, he spoke with a more feminine looking boy with fiery red hair, by the name of Kenshin Himura.
"You know, I'd do anything to get with that Megumi girl. How about you Kenshin? Is there a girl at school you like? Sano asked while they prepared for their class.
"Ehm," Kenshin hesitated, "I don't wanna talk about it."
"Suit yourself, I'm gonna finally make a move on her tomorrow." said Sano, "Heh Heh, I hope I don't see that chou guy though, I've got a blade in my pocket with his name on it."
"Gasp! Surely you're not serious Sanosuke-san! Such violence is not something I could handle."
"Bah! You know I'm not serious Kenshin."
The two boys went to their lessons, they were the best in the country at what they did. The smell of sweat and leather was something familiar to them, as was the sound of the bell, or the sound of their glove on someone's face. Sano was going to go professional, while Kenshin considered boxing as more of a hobby. At the end of their lesson, the two went their separate ways home.\
'I wonder how I can make my move tomorrow.' Sano wondered to himself. Sano started thinking about Megumi, and her radiant beauty. She was to him like alcohol is to a drunkard, and he could not take his eyes off of her. He would become dizzy and tipsy when he talked to her. Her jet-black hair reminded him of beautiful tendrils of darkness that would envelope him in an ever peaceful cocoon of blackness. He wanted to die and be reborn in her beauty. 'I'll never get with a woman so divine as her.' he though grimly to himself.
Another night, another dream, they all involved her, taunting Sano in his sleep. When he wasn't dreaming of her, he was dreaming about becoming champion of the world, and how that couldn't compare to the happiness he'd have with her.
The next morning Sano was sitting at the smoke pit, enjoying a cancer stick, when he saw Megumi walking towards him. Usually this would mean nothing, but this time, she was looking at him! And calling his name! Sano looked side to side and pointed to himself bewilderedly.
"Hey! Whatsup?" She asked, sitting next to him on the barrier he was seated on.
"Uhhhhh...Guhhhhhhh...Duhhhhhhh" Sano bumbled incoherently.
"You're funny!" Megumi giggled, "Do you think I could bum a smoke?" she asked. How could he say no?
"Thankee!" She said, smiling to him while she lit her smoke. "So what's your name? I've seen you around quite a bit."
"M-My name is S-Sanosuke S-Sagara" he stuttered in response.
"Pleased to meet you Sano, My name is Megumi." she said, holding out her hand. in a brief moment of courage, Sano took it and kissed it.
"Oh my Sano! Are you always such a charmer?" Megumi asked.
"Only when I'm not really sure what the hell it is I'm doing." he laughed.
"Well I look forward to seeing you around Mr. Sagara." she said, hopping off the barrier.
"Uhhhh yeah! Uhm... you too. uhh, wait, what? No wait, Nevermind, just go." Sano fumbled his words.
'Fuck! Now I look like a complete idiot! I'll never get that girl, even if that was totally randomly awesome. Oh well, at least I've got boxing
