On the upper deck stands a lonely figure staring at the dark blue water, while most of the crew sleeps and only a few are left awake. The wind makes her white sleeves puff up, her black leather trousers cling to her legs and through the darkness he can distinguish her sword at her side. Her curls sways over her back, her pale neck looking inviting, yet he can sense the tension in her back as her eyes stare at the deep sea.
"Love, what are you doing?" He says as he comes closer.
She turns her eyes away from the sea and lays them on him, the closer he gets the more he sees signs of tiredness on her face.
"Watching the sea", she says as he wraps his arms around her and breathe her in.
After a time has passed and she keeps silent, he moves, dragging her with him,"Come to bed, my love."
She sighs and follows him, but her fingers intertwine with his and she squeezes his hand.

The water is weighting her, her hand reaching out to the surface, for anything that could pull her out; she knows how to swim but the sea is furious and determined, she is fighting uselessly, she is drowning and when she thinks of giving up she sees him, her captain, swimming towards her, he gets close enough to grab her hand but - that's the moment she dreads the most, the one she always sees when she wakes up - the angry sea throws a plank at his head and the shock makes him gulp down the sea and she always stays long enough to see his strength leave him and his unmoving body. She goes to release the little air she has left,
She gasps and wakes up in her bed, her name cried out by his lips again and again like a prayer as his hands rubs her shoulders and back.
"Emma! Emma!" He finally stops when their eyes meet and he finally takes a breath, reassured.
"You scared the hell out of me, love! I thought those dreams had stopped!"
Shame overwhelms her as it has for weeks at the idea of lying to him of all people, "I'm sorry, I didn't want to worry you, I know what you think of dreams"
He arranges her body next to his, until she is sitting in his lap and her head is cradled under his chin, his arms tight around her.
"Anyway I know that as soon as I set foot on land the dreams will stop, I know it deep down, trust me on this Killian", she feels him lean his chin over her head and sigh.
"I'll do my best to get us to a shore as fast possible", he tries to convey some cheer in his words but she knows him, he sounds… off.
She raise her head from under him and looks at him in the eye, "What are you not telling me?"
His arms tighten around her, almost too tight until he rushes out the words, "there is a storm coming our way and shore is behind it"
"How long?"
"Two days at best", his eyes shine with restrained tears.
She is shocked, she had hoped that they had more time but so soon?
"Oh Killian…" She frames his face with her hands and kisses him with everything she has, pouring her soul into this kiss. They make love one last time and prepare to face the storm, knowing that it is pointless this time.
They rise in the morning, i love yous on their lips.

Wake me up, please wake me up , she thinks, as she sees him die again, but this time it is no longer a dream, she can sense it.
They drift to the bottom of the sea, hand in hand, she closes her eyes as she breathes the salty water in. The darkness surrounds her as her body screams and her mind slows down and. stops.
