The only times we said hello again, were only in my dreams
The only time I saw your face again, was when I fell asleep.
Your name rings throughout the kingdom, when the people celebrate
It's only natural I'm breaking down, it's not like one can change fate.
But, it's really not fair, I knew you only for a moment
My heart tells me it takes time, but will I ever truly get over it?
Seeing other men and suitors, makes me feel as if I've commited adultery
If only I never knew you, this would not have happened to me!
But how could I say that, my life just began by knowing you.
Playing those notes were for your good, but how hard it was to do!
Who knows how far we could have gone, the children we could have had!
Just when I think about all this, it makes me crestfallen and mad.
I guess we were not meant to be, but how we could have been!
I know you're happy in another time and place, but will I ever be rejoicing again?
Well, I suppose it's time for me to just be happy you're at home.
But it's scary and so sad, that I'll have to walk through life alone.
