Trees, and more trees and then some after that so many damn trees. She internally complained as she pushed the branches out of her way. So many damn trees that produced nothing but more damn trees. It had been days, years even she thought that they had seen something other than stupid dark trees. Her patience was at the end, her strength was at its breaking point and there was no where to run except into more damn trees. She hated trees.
There had been no signs of Henry, no signs of human life except hers and her traveling group. She grunted as she stumbled over a dead tree stump on the floor.
"Easy there love." His snarky rough voice echoed in her ear. She only grumbled as he helped her to get up.
"Damn trees." She muttered as she pulled away from his grasp. Last thing she needed was him around. She could not stand his arrogant, treacherous state of being. She would have to tolerate him to save her son. For it was true they were not going to survive on their own. They needed to work together as a team to get to the end goal.
What an unlikely crew they made she thought to herself, a princess, a prince, a pirate and an evil queen. Of all the fairy tale stories she had grown up with she would have never believed this as an ending. Though she knew Hook must have an alternative motive going on. Why would he care about Henry? Why would her son mean so much that he risk his life and his sole prized possession to return to the one place he hated most of all?
"We need to rest." She heard Snow state as the group came to a halt. "We aren't going to get much farther without a rest Emma."
"Agreed." Her father stated as he put a hand on her shoulder. "We are all tired." He stated giving her a smile.
"Ay we have walked far and made good speed." Hook concurred with the others. "We shall be where we need to be soon."
"And where do we need to be?" Emma asked as she gave in to the others and took a seat on the ground.
"Almost out of the trees." Hook retorted in his usual arrogant tone. "One could say."
"How are we going to find Henry?" Regina questioned as she drank some water that they had stored for the long journey on foot. "How do we find this Peter Pan?"
"Oh we don't find Peter Pan, he finds us."
