A/N: This was written in about an hour. I love this song and couldn't not write this. I should be studying for a test that I have for my Massachusetts license on Friday... Enjoy :)

Please R&R

This is inspired by the song the Broken Ones by Dia Frampton /Qp-OaVl-CJc

I know they've hurt you bad.
Why hide the scars you have?
Baby let me straighten out your broken bones,
All your faults to me make you more beautiful.

He watches from afar as his wife goes about her daily work. Danny knew exactly what kind of woman Linda was when he married her. He knew the stories about her family. How someone could treat the children so badly didn't make sense. His family had been amazing; when he first met Linda all he had wanted to do was help her, save her. But then he fell in love.

I can't help it,
I love the broken ones,
The ones who
Need the most patching up.
The ones who
Never been loved,
Never been loved,
Never been loved enough.
Maybe I see a part of me in them.
The missing piece always trying to fit in.
The shattered heart
Hungry for a home.
No, you're not alone.
I love the broken ones.

Even though he never fit in anywhere but with his family, he always fit with Linda. Linda had been his saving grace. And he was hers.

You don't have to drive,
With your headlights off.
It's a pocket knife,
Not a gift from God.
Don't you learn of love from the love they kept.
I will be your anchor slowly,
Step by step.

They didn't know how much they meant to each other until Danny's first major injury on the job. She stood by him through all of rehab appointments. She was the one constant there; she was the one that he wanted to walk for all over again. He even planned to propose to her the moment he made it across the room without any assistance.

I can't help it,
I love the broken ones,
The ones who
Need the most patching up.
The ones who
Never been loved,
Never been loved,
Never been loved enough.
Maybe I see a part of me in them.
The missing piece always trying to fit in.
The shattered heart
Hungry for a home.
No you're not alone.
I love the broken ones.
I love the broken ones.

He couldn't believe he was almost to her. All he could think about was loving her for the rest of his life. Creating and raising a family with her. Being her rock. She would be his.

As soon as he made it to her, he pulled a velvet box out of his pocket. And knelt down in front of her, as well as he could anyway.

"Linda, you are my rock. You've been my inspiration to get through this injury. You have saved me. Will you marry me?" Danny asked hopefully.

"Ye…Yes…of course I'll marry you," Linda replied tearfully.

Maybe we can rip off the bandage.
Maybe you will see it for what it is.
Maybe we can burn this building,
Holding you in.

Linda knew she had to be there for the man she loved. He had been there to save her from her family. All the hurt was in the past she was part of the family that loved her just as much as they loved their son and brother. Watching him struggle to walk again and remembering how she felt when they waited for him to wake up again, she knew she was going to love him for the rest of her life.

I can't help it,
I love the broken ones,
The ones who
Need the most patching up.

They loved each other; they had saved each other from things that many people didn't have to go through. They fit together. They patched each other up from the daily wars. They were both broken, but they were each other's broken ones, mending each other as the years went on.

The ones who
Never been loved,
Never been loved,
Never been loved enough.
Maybe I see a part of me in them.
The missing piece always trying to fit in.
The shattered heart
Hungry for a home.
No you're not alone.
I love the broken ones.
I love the broken ones.
I love the broken ones.
I love the broken ones.
