That incredibly eventful day when Mikan forgot her sweater.

It was a cold winter day at the Academy, and, due to the heaters in their rooms, Mikan forgot to take a sweater with her to class.

"Hotaru," Mikan's voice shook along with the rest of her body as she called out to her best friend, "hug me." She ran to her with arms open, awaiting the warmth of Hotaru's embrace.

"Get away from me," Hotaru said coolly, taking out a very familiar contraption that aimed for idiots, as designed and invented by the raven-haired girl herself.

Mikan now lay on the floor with bruises and tears, still shivering from the cold. She got up slowly, rubbing her head. She dusted her skirt and made her way to the back of the classroom where a certain ruby-eyed boy sat alone with his manga.

She took a seat beside him and sat quietly, waiting for the teacher to arrive.

He lifted his head from the reading material he was so engrossed with, and glared at the pigtailed girl who dared to sit in his turf.

"Hi, Natsume," her voice shook as she turned to look at him. Her arms were wrapped around her own body, hoping that embracing herself would make her feel better.

"What were you thinking coming out here without a sweater?" Natsume asked coldly.

"I forgot about the cold weather," Mikan muttered, "the heater in my room made me think it wasn't this cold outside."

"Stupid little girl," Natsume resumed reading, "go away, you're disturbing me."

Mikan frowned and walked back to her seat beside Hotaru. Her teeth made weird, chattering noises, her feet kept moving around, and her hands rubbed her arms with huge hopes of not freezing over. Right before Narumi entered, she felt warmer; she stopped shivering and her hands instantly regained their warmth. Around her, she noticed little balls of fire.

She looked behind her and saw Natsume quietly reading his manga.
