Chapter 1: Meet my Dad
It was three in the morning, and a 9 year old boy, with golden blonde hair, and emerald green eyes was staring out the window. He would always do that. He would imagine himself with a family. "One day. One day I'll have a family, that'll love me, and take care of me."
"Shut up Lloyd!" Another boy with wavy, ginger hair was sleeping in the bunk on top of Lloyd, and hated when he talked to himself.
"I can talk If I like Gene!"
"No you can't, stupid!"
Lloyd wanted to leave the orphanage, which is where he currently was. He's been there his whole life. "When I leave, It'll be the best day of my life…" Lloyd whispered to himself before falling asleep.
The next morning…
"Come, come children!" A woman with a brown dress, and white apron was waking up the orphans for breakfast.
"Ugh! It's 9 in the morning!" A boy with raven black hair was pulling his pillow over his head.
"Yes, But today's match-making day!"
All the kids scrambled out of their beds and started to get ready for breakfast. All except Lloyd. He never got picked by anyone.
"Lloyd!" The women walked over to his bed and pulled off the sheets. "Let's go!"
Lloyd groaned and sat up. "There's no point! No one ever picks me, so I might as well stay in bed."
"You never know! Come on!"
Lloyd sluggishly walked over to the now empty bathroom and brushed his teeth and hair. He grabbed a pair of light blue patched up jeans and a green and black striped T-shirt. He put his messed up sneakers on, and headed down stairs. Breakfast was already over, so he headed to the courtyard, where all the parents picked their future son or daughter.
"Hey Lloyd!" A girl with blonde hair and grey eyes was calling over Lloyd to sit with her.
"Coming…"
Lloyd sat down and waited for her to talk.
"You know, I feel like today's the day!"
"Hm-mm."
"Lloyd, try to keep a positive attitude."
"I know Rumi, but I just don't feel any different today."
Lloyd and Rumi were quiet for a while, until someone tapped on Lloyd's shoulder. Lloyd turned around to see a teenager with raven black hair, and grey stormy eyes. He was wearing a grey jacket and black sweatpants.
"Hi. I'm Cole, Cole Bucket."
The Nine-year old jumped from the bench and examined the teen. "And why are you talking to me?"
Cole smiled. "Well I hear it's adoption day, and I'm looking for someone to be my son."
Lloyd was confused "But why are you talking to me? There's a lot of other boys here."
"Yeah, but…." Cole bent down to whisper in Lloyd's ear. "I like you the most."
Lloyd couldn't help but giggle.
"What's your name?"
"I'm Lloyd."
"I like that name. Wait here." Cole walked inside the orphanage, and Lloyd waited for him to come back out. 30 minutes passed and Cole didn't come out.!
"Okay children, time to go inside."
Lloyd's heart dropped. He thought Cole was going to adopt him. When the orphans were going inside, Lloyd caught someone running towards him from the corner from his eye.
"Lloyd!" Cole was running towards Lloyd, waving papers around.
"Sir, viewing is over."
Cole ran up to the woman and caught his breath. "But I have the You-Know-What papers."
The women examined the papers that Cole was holding, and nodded her head.
Cole walked over to Lloyd and took him out of the line. "Hey, What do you say to me being your new dad?"
Lloyd squealed with joy. "So I'm your son now?!"
Cole chuckled. "Yep. So now you can leave with me, and live with me. Do you have anything you want to take with you?"
"No, just you."
Cole smiled. "Than we can leave right now."
Lloyd was ready to leave, but remembered about Rumi. He ran up to her and hugged her. "I know you'll find someone." He than ran back to Cole, and they walked to the parking lot.
"We're driving home?!" Asked Lloyd.
"Hm-mm. There's my car." Cole pointed to a black car with gold highlights.
"SO COOL!"
When they got there, Cole buckled Lloyd in the back, and they started to drive home.
"What should I call you?"
"Whatever you want Lloyd."
"Ok...dad." Lloyd smiled, and Cole smiled back. They reached the monastery, and Cole took Lloyd out the car.
"Is this your house?!"
"Well, it's not just you and me living together. I have…..friends, and they don't know I adopted you."
"Oh"
"Have you ever heard of a Ninja?"
Lloyd's face lit up. "Ninja?!"
"Yea. I'm a Ninja. The Ninja of Earth."
Lloyd practically blew up. "OH MY GOD! MY DAD IS A NINJA!"
"Shhhh….they can't know I have you right now, okay?"
"Okay dad."
Cole carried Lloyd up the many stairs, and they finally reached the two Monastery doors.
"Okay, so we're gonna be sneaky, you know, like a Ninja."
"Alright dad."
Cole and Lloyd sneakily went inside the Monastery and into Cole's room.
"So this will be your room slash house for now, until I tell the Ninja about you."
"Alright."
"I'll bring you food and all that good stuff. We're gonna go shopping next week."
"Yes." Lloyd danced in place.
"Well I gotta go." Cole started to walk out the door, when Lloyd called out to him.
"Dad?"
"Yes son?"
"I love you."
Cole felt a feeling. A different feeling. Like a parent's kind of love towards Lloyd. "I love you too, son."
