" I have walked this earth but a mere twenty-four years. I have seen all and heard all there is about love. How it sweeps in and pulls you down like a strong surge of water nestled in the mist of a hurricane. I've learned the sounds of the rhythm of the heart. The beams of light from stars far away, I've been to heaven and seen the angels, I've walked the moon and traced among the different galaxies. I've seen falling stars and morning dew, but nothing, nothing as beautiful, as graceful as thee." Lucas said to Brooke as he held her hands in his.

A tear runs down her cheek. Never had she heard something so beautiful before. "And I've heard the doves sing and seen the eagles fly, I've danced in the dessert at sunset and watched our children dance in the sparkle of your eyes. I felt my heart beat for the first time ever when I saw you, Lucas Scott. I felt the air upon my face and rain upon my skin. Because of you I have loved." Brooke's heart sinking deep into her chest. "I've loved like noone-else in this world. I've drinked of the cup of love and loyalty with you."

Haley wiped the tears from her cheeks as she turned and buried her head in Nathans chest. Peyton felt her knees get week. She was happy and sad at the same time. She was happy that Lucas and Brooke finally were saying their I do's but sad at the way it came about. Skills placed his hand on Peyton's shoulder. He too had a tear in his eyes.

"I now pronouce you man and wife." The reverend said.

Lucas leaned over and kissed his wife. He pulled back and looked into her eyes. "I told you that I was the guy for you, Brooke Davis."

She smiled. "You did didn't you." She started to cough.

"You okay?" Lucas asked concerned.

She nodded yes. "I love you."

"I love you too, pretty girl."

Brooke looked over Lucas's shoulder. She motioned for Peyton to come to her. "P. Sawyer." Her voice cracked. "I need you too promise me that you'll take care of my husband. Alright." She asked.

Peyton took Brooke's hand. "Of course." She wiped away her tears. She was angry that she wasn't there to protect Brooke the night her store got robbed. She was angry that Lucas had chosen her instead of Brooke. If he had called Brooke then she wouldn't have been there all alone. The doctors had done surgery to try and repair Brookes lung that was punctured by her rib. But it was just a matter of time they told everyone.

Lucas hated himself for not being there to save her. Although he had chosen Peyton he knew where his heart really laid and that was with Brooke. He just figured she would be too busy with her store and clothing company to have time for him. When the doctors told him that she wouldn't make it more than 48 hours he knew he had to marry her. He had to make his dream come true. So he and Peyton hid the truth and Lucas aske Brooke to marry him. He called a preacher and made arrangements.

"Luke, Peyton is going to need you now more than ever. So promise me that you'll put aside your petty feelings and make amends." Brooke said.

Luke nodded in agreement. "Anything you want, baby girl. Anything you want." He leaned down and kissed her once more.

Brooke's body went limp in his arms. The heart monitor went off and Lucas felt his air leaving his lungs like he was just sucker punched in the gut. He cradled her body in his arms. Rocking her back and farth as tears ran down his cheeks. He didn't want to let go. This wasn't fair. "I'll make them pay, Brooke, I promise I'll make them pay." He whispered into her ear.

Peyton's legs no longer could stand their ground. Skills grabbed her before she hit the floor. He helped her over to the chair in the corner of the room. Haley and Nathan embraced as tears lingered down their faces too. The room was quiet with the exception of the heart machine. The lives of these five people would never be the same.
