KURT AND KAROFSKY
A/N - first uploaded fanfic! Whee! Yes, I know this is short. Sorry about that. Just thought it would be interesting to write about. Enjoy!

As Kurt was gliding through the supermarket, picking up things from the shelves that he thought Blaine might want to eat, his cart crashed noisily into someone else's.
"Sorry!" exclaimed Kurt, "I really should pay more attention to where I'm walk…"
He trailed off, his voice losing power. The smile vanished from his face. Standing in front of him was David Karofsky – his old high school tormentor. Kurt shuddered slightly at the memories. He thought all of those had gone when he moved away from Lima, but no, they'd followed him here, to New York. Kurt could feel Karofsky's eyes piercing into him. Maybe he doesn't remember… thought Kurt.
Karofsky coughed awkwardly. "It's, um, it's good to, um, see you, Kurt." His voice was merely above a whisper. So maybe he did remember, but why wouldn't he look Kurt straight in the eye? He could be ashamed… though probably not, reasoned Kurt. He just nodded curtly at the other man and began to walk off when he heard Karofsky call after him. Kurt turned round, a little sheepishly. David's eyes connected with his own. Kurt could feel his pain.
"I'm sorry, Kurt. I was young and stupid and I regret it all." Kurt felt his eyes widen and he had to restrain his jaw from falling open. He wasn't expecting to even see this man again, let alone an apology! Still, since he was here…
"Why did you do it?" snapped Kurt. "What was the point? You were closeted, you could have just come out, made a difference, I,"
Karofsky stopped Kurt's rant with a gesture of his hand. He smiled sadly. "I was young. I was foolish. I didn't accept myself." Kurt wondered if he had changed.
"Davie, do you like tapenade?" trilled a voce form the other isle. From round the corner, a male head popped around holding the jar in question. Karofsky turned to him and answered, "I don't think I've ever had it." The man looked startled and then he smiled. "Well, I'm getting it. Tonight, you and me are going to have tapenade, baby!" and with that he disappeared again. Karofsky swivelled his head back to Kurt. Kurt smiled. He was happy for Karofsky. Finally, he'd come to terms with himself. And he looked … well, he looked free.
"Um, we should, get a coffee sometime," Karofsky said. "You know, clear the air and all that…" Kurt looked at him and Karofsky stared back. In that moment, something shifted. Like a weight had been lifted. Kurt smiled. "Yeah, I'd love to, Karofsky," he replied.
They exchanged numbers and were about to go their separate ways when Karofsky turned round. "Kurt, I think you should call me Dave," and he turned a corner and left.
