Chapter 1:
Not My Idea Of Friendship
"Dude! C'mon!" Said Max, Thrusting his helmet toward the wooden floor of the ackermans house.
"MAX, I need to finish this Experiment! Howie is counting on me!" The young scientist, Alvin, had yelled. Alvin shot max a look, looked down at his experiment, and looked back up.
"Just come to the mountain with me! You've been working on that…-" His voice trailed off and quieted. "- That lame thing all day.."
Little did the Boys know, that would be a start to their friendship braking.
Alvin looked up at max, with his brown eyes suddenly glassy. His pale face, turned a little green, and then bright red.
"YOU CALL SCIENCE LAME?" Alvin almost screamed, standing up to meet with his friends face.
"Dude, I-I'm Sorry. I didn't mean it that way. Now Let's go to the mou mou to Shred some Pow Pow!" He jumped on his bed, pretending to snowboard in an athletic stance.
"I'm Sorry, I didn't understand most of that sentence." Alvin looked down at his jeans, Looking at anything but the snowboarder that shared a room with him. "Max, You know how you consider me a "bro"?" Asked Alvin.
"Yeah," Max said with a smile.
" A real Bro would understand that I need to work on this. A real bro wouldn't…." Alvin looked at the doorway, got up, went to the door, and put his small, bony back up against it. "-Wouldn't be so pushy. This isn't my idea of friendship." Alvin said, and ran out of the boys room. Max flopped down on his bed. Normally, The Max Asher didn't cry. But not this time. A small tear slipped out of his eyes. He ran across the room, putting on all of his gear. He grabbed his snowboard with his gloved hand and ran out. He ran down the hall, down the staircase when he bumped into Mrs. Ackerman.
"Max honey, Where are you going? Dinner's almost ready." She said with her blond hair draping in front of her face. "We gonna crush some lasagna!" She said, trying to talk like her son's best friend. "I'm Going anywhere where your son is not. And, I'll pass dinner." Max ran down the stairs, past the living room, and ran out the door, to the mountain.
