Stupei
AN: So, I haven't played Persona 3, I have played Persona Q, though. ANYWAYS, some friends of mine wanted me to write some P3 stories, especially for Yukari, and I was like, "Can Junpei be in it?" and they said yes. And then this was born!
Enjoy!
She had been caught up in the fast moving, the running, jumping, the quick turns based on her own instinct, the pull of each arrow right before they were released...it was all too quick.
Thinking was something that wasn't easy to do in such tough situations, it was easier to just do things.
Even when the shadowy ball of power was coming at her, thinking wasn't easy. She was shocked, standing still, but finally she moved to run...she was too slow, though.
She screamed out, and to her, it was as if her voice was echoing over and over again. Maybe it was just her, though.
Things around her were blurry, voices muffled...it was like being under water.
She tried to move around, to wake up...she couldn't do anything, though.
Soon things were quiet, but a sudden, low voice got her attention, "Someone should stay with her."
Yukari strained to hear the other person, but she couldn't manage to. He was probably further away, because the next time the first voice spoke, she heard him just fine, "Yeah...probably."
He sounded familiar to Yukari, and she wasn't sure why, but she liked listening to him. Unfortunately, things had gone quiet again.
Maybe she was dreaming or something, but things seemed so...strange...real.
Sometime later, she heard him again, "You're going to be okay..."
She tried to speak back to him, to say something, to thank him maybe. His voice was a comfort that she was starting to enjoy...so she felt sad when she didn't hear anything else.
Yukari continued to wonder who he.
His voice was kind of scratchy, actually...but almost in a good way. His voice was strange, light, but gruff, high pitch, but low.
She felt like she knew him...she probably does.
She blinked, a bright light against her eyes.
As she opened her eyes she immediately knew she was in a hospital, and she realized the light from the window had woken her up.
Checking a clock on the wall, she saw it was around sunrise and relaxed a little, feeling better now that she knew where she was and what time it was. It made her feel less disoriented.
As her eyes continued to scan the room, they landed on Junpei who was sitting in the chair by her bed, his arms crossed and resting on the bed with his chin resting on his arms.
His hat was off, sat on a desk nearby, and his short, brown hair was messier than usual, strands going off in different directions. And even with his eyes closed, she imagined the bright blue eyes that she normally saw, but something was off...he looked more tired than usual, even with his eyes closed.
Finally she smiled a little, realizing that he had been the voice she heard, "Stupei."
He opened his eyes and lifted his head a bit, then he smiled at her.
The End
