Gold Snake: Just a short one shot about love. Not really about any particular couple, but definitely has to do with magic/supernatural and love.

"I have something for you" he murmured in her ear as his fingers ghosted up and down her spine. They were in bed, her chin resting on his chest as they looked into each other's eyes and drank up the moment.

"A gift?" she whispered, rising slightly as he shifted beneath her. She rolled over onto her back, letting the silk sheets pool around her as he slid out from under the covers and crossed the dark room. Picking up his discarded robe from the floor he fished out a small velvet bag.

Crawling back in bed he snaked his arm around her hips, pulling her back to his chest, his arms out in front of the both of them. "This," he said as he opened the deep blue velvet bag "has been in my family for as long as anyone can remember". His lips ghosted across her neck and ear as he tipped the bag over, letting the contents fall into his hand. "No one knows where they came from".

As she looked down into his palm, she was shocked to see two small gold snacks. Unsure why, she followed her instincts and reached out to touch his palm. As their skin connected, electricity rushed through their bodies. Flashes of their past rushed through their vision, morphing into their future. They saw their wedding day, their first fight as married couple, the day a child- their child- was born. She gasped as she felt the gold metal wrap around her finger, the visions stopped, and she was left looking down at their hands pressed together- matching gold bands on their fingers.

"Rings…" she breathed, turn so she could look into his eyes.

"They are charmed, the ring is a snake. Only true love can make the snakes turn into rings. Once they are on they cannot come off until one of us has died."

She looked down with another small gasp as she felt the snake wrap once, twice around her finger before coming back to a stop as a ring.

"What…?" but he answered her question before she could completely ask it.

"They move when the other owner thinks about how much they love the wearer" he kissed her head as her snake moved again.

Closing her eyes, she thought about their life together. How much the secret love means to her. How much she wanted the world to see how much he means to her. As she opened her eyes, she caught the last little movement of his snake on his finger. He was smiling, "so...I guess everyone will know now" he purred in her ear as he snaked his arms tighter around her body, closing the gap between the two of them.

"Finally" she sighed into his mouth as she closed the gap between their lips.
