Bulma sat on the front deck of the Capsule Corporation holding her small daughter wrapped in her blue blanket. She watched her son and Goten play in the air, blissfully unaware of the possible danger that awaited them all. Since Vegeta left to participate in the tournament, Trunks carried on as usual, though he missed the training sessions with his father. Sure Vegeta was harsh with Trunks, but Bulma knew that they both enjoyed the sessions and the trips to the park that occasionally followed as a rare treat. Inside, her stomach was twisted in knots. She felt a single bullet of sweat roll down her cheek as she envisioned her husband fighting for his life in the tournament. Would he come back? Would they all be erased for good? There was no denying it, Bulma knew the one person who missed Vegeta more than herself was Bra. From the first time they met, Bra seemed to prefer Vegeta over everyone else. Just before Vegeta left, he held Bra to his chest, promising he would come back for her before handing her to Bulma. As soon as she was out of his arms, she sobbed loudly. Bulma had not been able to calm her down until a few minutes ago when Bra had finally cried herself out. A few tears streamed down Bulma's cheeks.
"Please come home soon Vegeta," She lamented softly.
Out of nowhere, she heard the familiar sound of an instant transmission but she thought she was hearing things. Bulma finally broke down in tears when she all of the sudden felt something warm on her shoulder.
"Not now Yamcha, I'm not in the mood," She snapped.
"Yamcha? You thought I was that weakling?" a familiar gruff voice said from behind. Bulma didn't say a word but turned around slowly and there beside her, with his arms in his trademark arm fold, was her saiyan prince, alive and well. Bulma's eyes teared up as she burrowed her head into Vegeta's chest, sobbing softly.
"I told you I'd come back woman, it takes a lot more than that to finish off the prince of all saiyans," he said gruffly as he placed his arms around her. After a few emotional minutes Bulma pulled away from Vegeta and held out his daughter to him.
"She really missed you, I tried everything to get her to relax but nothing worked," Bulma told him tiredly. Vegeta took Bra into his arms and her blue eyes opened. Vegeta looked down at her as she smiled and giggled, happy to have her father back.
"I promised I'd come back for you princess," Vegeta said softly while stroking her small cheek. Bra looked right into his eyes and scrunched up her face as if she were about to cry, but instead of crying, she looked right up at Vegeta and clearly said "Papa" in her small voice. Bulma tensed up and Vegeta flinched.
"What did you say?" Vegeta asked quietly, still not believing what had just happened.
"PAPA!" Bra squealed.
"Aww Vegeta, she's talking," Bulma said teary eyed.
"That's my girl," Vegeta said softly as Bra nuzzled her face into his chest.
"TRUNKS YOU'RE FATHER'S BACK HOME!" Bulma shouted into the air. Both Trunks and Goten were back on the deck in seconds.
"Dad, where did you go? Mom wouldn't tell me," Trunks asked as he ran up to his father and wrapped his arms around his waist.
"I'll tell you about it when we go inside and then it's back to training young man," Vegeta said sternly, placing his free arm on Trunks's back. After Trunks ran off to go play with Goten again, Bulma walked back up to her husband and leaned forward for a kiss. Vegeta usually pushed her away when she did this but for once, he leaned forward and passionately kissed her back.
"Thank Kami you're back home," Bulma whispered into Vegeta's ear.
"I'm not going anywhere woman," Vegeta replied. He leaned in and whispered into her ear, "My Bulma."
