I own nothing.
It was sunny on the day of her funeral. How like the world, to completely ignore Donna Noble, even when she lay dead. Considering what she had done for it, one might have thought the Earth would show a little regret for her passing. But the whole planet just went on without her as it always had.
That was the story of her life, really. No matter what pretty eulogy or obituary people might give her, in life Donna had always just missed everything important. Why, once she had slept through an alien invasion that had carried the Earth untold light-years across space.
She wasn't anything special. Just another temp who had failed to get anywhere in life. Her husband had deserted her early on, leaving her to support two children as best she could. They sat crying in the front pew, mourning the mother who had always tried to do the best for them. They didn't blame her for not succeeding.
The tombstone that resided over her grave simply read Donna Noble. No title or honorific was added for she had earned none in her brief tenure on the blue planet. It just sat there unadorned, ready to face the wind and rain.
And the song of Doctor Donna continued to weave through the stars.
