Chapter 1 - The Re-union
It had been 10 years since Zoey Redbird accompanied by her warrior Stark and her close group of friends had defeated the immortal Kalona and the Tsi gili Neferet. 10 years was a long time and a lot had changed since their time at the Tulsa House of Night. Everyone had survived the transition from being a fledgling and turning into a vampyre - with the exception of Stevie Rae Johnson and Stark, who were now red vampyre's which were extremely sensitive to sunlight. Shaunee and Erin were still as close as ever still calling each other twin, Shaunee had becoming a movie star, whilst Erin had become an author, both of them had achieved their dreams. Damien and
Jack had gotten married and were living happily together. Stevie Rae and Dallas were together once again after reconciling their differences and after Rephaim had been killed in the battle between good and evil 10 years ago when Kalona was defeated. Darius was now acting as both husband and warrior to Aphrodite LaFont who was also now a vampyre prophetess, after receiving her mark back from the goddess Nyx and completing the transition into a vampyre. Finally Zoey had become high priestess at the House of Night who was deeply in love with Stark her warrior, who fortunately returned the love she felt for him. But then again things are never as they seem.
Zoey's POV
When the trouble began once again at the House of Night, I didn't know what to think at first, but I was far from surprised. It began about two months ago when the first vampyre was found dead in the middle of school grounds surrounded by a pool of scarlet red blood. I immediately called the Sons of Erebus to the house of night for protection, I ordered then to guard every entrance day and night and to alert me if anyone, fledgling or vampyre, attempted to enter or exit the house of night. However the vampyre's didn't need my permission to exit the house of night, but the warriors would alert me of their departure. The next day Shaunee, Erin, Damien, Jack, Aphrodite, Darius, Stevie Rae and Dallas all arrived at the house of night after finding out what had happened the previous day. We all sat down around a table as I filled them in about the events that had occurred the previous day. Their faces were filled with a mixture of both worry and terror. After a long moments silence Jack ended the awkward silence by asking "What does this mean?"
Aphrodite responded in her usual manner "This means there is a serious shit storm of evil heading our way, and we have no idea what it is or when it's arriving!"
"That about sums it up!" the twins said at the same time, making everyone smile. it somehow seem to lighten the mood and ease the tension that emanated throughout the room.
Stark who was uneasily quiet through this discussion finally said "I think we need to head to the library and figure out what's going on before something else equally bad happens!" Everyone stared at him wide-eyed and open mouthed.
"What?" he said in his casual and cool tone.
"I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we never thought we'd see the day when we hear you say that we should "head to the library"!" Aphrodite replied.
