Unwanted Affection

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto in any way, shape or form. That would be nice though...

I wrote this for an English project. The teacher said that students would get extra credit if they wrote a fiction piece on unwanted affection .Again, this is another quick piece of crap that I wrote. This is the first fanfiction piece that I have ever written, so bear with me. Please try to read without yawning. Enjoy!

I remember the first time I met him. He was getting beaten up by a pair of older boys. They were young ninja trying to prevent other "weaker" genin from entering the room to apply for the Chunin exams. My team exposed their genjutsu and kept moving. This boy had the audacity to march right up to me and say "Will you be my girlfriend, I'll protect you with my life!" I gaped at him for a moment. He had a soup bowl haircut, bug eyes, and caterpillar 'brows. I replied "Defiantly...not."

His face was downcast as I dragged my team mates down the hall. Anyway, mega-brows kept pursuing me, even though I repeatedly rejected and insulted him.

During the second phase of our exam, he proved that he stuck to his word. I am not that strong and my team mates were both unconscious. I had to protect them. I had set up traps, but the otonin just plowed right through them. Just when the sound nin were about to finish me off , he came out of no where. Doggy-brows fought as hard as he could to protect me. He risked his life for me. He ended up getting hurt pretty badly. It was then that I started to respect him and call him by his name.

Whenever I reminisce that moment, about his bravery, my heart flutters.. When I think about what he said that day, when he came to my rescue, I smile at his words. He said

"I came because you needed me and I always will! Because I promised when we met to protect you until death so us part!"

Whenever I am near Sasuke, I feel scrawny, small, weak and insignificant. When I am with that boy, the one who saved me, I feel appreciated and loved. When I am with him, I silently thank him for patiently waiting, waiting for me to realize he is the one for me. He is the boy I love, the one I truly love. With the soup bowl haircut, bug eyes, bushy brows and a green jump suit. The boy named Rock Lee.
