"So I guess this is it then?"

"Yea, I suppose so." She tried to hold in the tears, threatening to fall. She couldn't let him know how much pain she was actually in. The sound of the busy platforms of King's Cross were drowned out by their grim situation. Goodbye was never an easy thing.

"Look Lily-" His eyes showed the emotions running through his heart and his intention of his next words.

"Don't. Please." Her voice cracked with the words attempting to force themselves out. Clearing her throat, she began again, "Just be careful okay?"

He nodded his head in acceptance. The train's horn blared and broke them out of their sad bubble. Without another word he kissed her cheek and turned away. Boarding the train, he gave a look back at her and with all the strength he had, forced himself into the carriage.

Once she saw he was inside, she briskly walked out of the station, back to the car waiting for her. She held on as long as she could. A few traitor tears falling down her cheeks, washing away the traces of his soft kiss. As soon as she got into the passenger seat of the car, ignoring the concerned question from her loyal friend, and finally broke down. She couldn't hold on. Knowing those words she'll always regret not saying. They will forever remind her of what she let go.

Once he was his seat, he let out a deep breathe. He was leaving. The thought made him angry and frustrated all over. The rage and sadness hit him like a bus. But there was no going back, he'd made his decision and couldn't back out now. Taking a look at the time, he waited until the train started moving to really process what his life would be like now. She wouldn't be there. He wouldn't be able to see her beautiful smile when he made he laugh or did something sweet. He wouldn't be there for her when she cried when something made her sad. He wouldn't be able to hold her after a long day of work. And it was all his fault. He was leaving. Then he remembered the words he'd wanted to say. The ones she stopped him from blurting out. He knew why and he knew that saying them would only hurt them both more. Those words…

Don't go.

I love you.
