" Hey girl!", Liz pulled the phone away as Izzy's voice yelled into her ear. She let the ringing in her ear stop before putting it back. " Hey Izzy, what's up?" She heard her friend move around on the other side of the line, " I will tell you what's up", Izzy said, " We are going out tonight." This earned a loud woo hoo which caused Liz to pull the phone away from her ear again.
She ran her fingers through her brown, short hair, Izzy was a party girl so phone calls like this weren't too uncommon. She let her friend finish before talking into the phone. " Izzy you know I don't do that sort of thing and I don't feel like going out tonight.
Izzy sighed into the other phone. " Come on Liz, I know it's been hard for you lately especially after what happened, but you can't let them win. You need to get out there again and get your head out of the gutter." Liz smiled her eyes gleaming, " They're not in the gutter." Izzy sighed, " Fine then get it out of books, or your games, or you tube whatever. Liz laughed, while Izzy partied Liz would enjoy a quiet night at home.
Izzy's voice piped up again," Liz you can't spend your nights alone at home forever and getting out of the house might help your thoughts not go somewhere sighed, Izzy was right, she had been miserable for months and though her friends tried to help she never felt any better only worse. Therapy didn't help either, it only made her temporarily happy.
She looked at the clock on her wall, the time read 7 o clock. Izzy waited on the other side on the line impatiently. Liz could hear her foot tapping on the ground. Liz took a breathe and put the phone to her ear, " When and where?"
The door slammed causing the house to vibrate. Roan ignored the foot steps coming into the living room. His kept his eyes on his book. The story playing through his head as he read the words off of the page.
He felt a hand come down on his shoulder and shake him. His friend's voice cutting off his thoughts. " Buddy tonight's is the night!" Gabriel lifted his hand off of Roan's shoulder and collapsed onto the couch, keeping his eyes on his nerdy friend.
Roan closed his book and rubbed his eyes, skewing his glasses in the process. " What's tonight?" He blinked at his eyes at his friends excited face. It was a mystery of why they were friends, Gabe was captain of the football team and Roan was a book worm who spent his free time with his head in a book or playing games.
Gabriel sat up looking at Roan with a serious face, " Tonight my friend, we are going to get you a girl." Roan rolled his eyes, Gabriel was always bringing girls home with him, while Roan had stayed home and did his own thing.
Gabriel held up his finger, " And before you say no, remember you owe me." Roan sighed, one incident involving his friend's favorite jacket and a box of clothes to good will and he was screwed.
He looked at Gabe's anticipating face and sighed, " Where are we going, and what do I need to bring?" Gabe smiled stood up, " Only you, and your phone of course. Tonight we party and hopefully get lucky." Roan chuckled standing up and heading towards his room to change.
